''Midnight Madness'' is the second studio album by American rock band Night Ranger, released in October 1983 by MCA Records. The album produced three charting singles and contains the band's best known hit, "Sister Christian". It remains their highest selling album at over a million copies sold in the US. Singles The first single/video, "(You Can Still) Rock in America" peaked at number 51 in early 1984 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and also reached number 15 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. "Sister Christian" peaked at number 5 on Billboard's Hot 100 and was one of the most played videos of 1984. The song also has been featured in several films including ''Boogie Nights'' and ''Rock of Ages'' among others. Night Ranger
Night Ranger is an American hard rock band from San Francisco, California. The band formed in 1982 and experienced a surge of popularity during the 1980s with the release of several successful albums and hit singles. Guitarist Brad Gillis and drummer Kelly Keagy have been the band's only constant members, though bassist Jack Blades performed on all but one of their albums. Other current members of the band include guitarist Keri Kelli and keyboardist Eric Levy. The band's first five albums sold more than 10 million copies worldwide and the group has sold 17 million albums total. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is a trade organization that represents the music recording industry in the United States. It started as an independent trade from 1973 to 2006 until VNU Media took over in 2006 and became a relaunched sister trade to ''Billboard'', until its final issue in 2009. Glenn Hughes (British Musician)
Glenn Hughes (born 21 August 1951) is an English musician, best known for playing bass and performing vocals in the hard rock band Trapeze and in the Mk. III and IV line-ups of Deep Purple, as well as briefly fronting Black Sabbath in the mid-1980s. In addition to being an active session musician, Hughes maintains a notable solo career. Jeff Watson (guitarist)
Jeffrey Victor Watson (born November 5, 1956) is an American guitarist originally known as one of the founding members and lead guitarist of the hard rock band Night Ranger, in which he has played as co-guitarist with guitarist Brad Gillis. Watson developed his signature eight-fingered tapping technique during his time in the band. Watson appeared as a special guest on Douglas Docker's Docker's Guild project. He has also released solo albums. In 2007, he was fired by the three other members of Night Ranger through a letter from their attorney. During 2009, he was part of Dennis DeYoung's travelling band. Kelly Dean Keagy (born September 15, 1952) is an American drummer and vocalist, best known for his work with the hard rock band Night Ranger. Keagy sang lead vocals on several of their hits, such as "Sister Christian", "Sing Me Away", and " Sentimental Street". Brad Gillis
Bradley Frank Gillis (born June 15, 1957) is an American guitarist most famous for playing with the band Night Ranger. He grew up in Alameda, California. He was in the band Rubicon during the 1970s before Night Ranger. Since forming in 1979, Gillis and drummer Kelly Keagy are the only members to have appeared in every incarnation of the band and all studio releases. However, Keagy missed several shows for the first time in 2017. On Saturday, 8 May 2021, Gillis was absent from a Night Ranger show for the first time in the band's history (he was recovering from rotator cuff surgery). He has also played for Ozzy Osbourne and Fiona, and has released solo albums. Jack Martin Blades (born April 24, 1954) is an American rock musician. He has worked in the bands Rubicon (American band), Rubicon, Night Ranger (as bassist and one of the lead vocalists), and Damn Yankees (band), Damn Yankees (as one of the founding members). He has also recorded with Tommy Shaw under the name Shaw Blades and has done work alongside the Tak Matsumoto Group.
