Midlands 3 West (South)
Counties 2 Midlands West (East) (formerly Midlands 3 West (South)) is a level 8 English Rugby Union league and level 3 of the Midlands League, made up of teams from the southern part of the West Midlands region including clubs from parts of Birmingham and the West Midlands, Herefordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and sometimes Oxfordshire, with home and away matches played throughout the season. When this division began in 1992 it was known as Midlands West 2, until it was split into two regional divisions called Midlands 4 West (North) and Midlands 4 West (South) ahead of the 2000–01 season. Further restructuring of the Midlands leagues ahead of the 2009–10 season, led to it to adopt the name Midlands 3 West (South). Further restructuring followed in the wake of the RFU's Adult Competition Review, from season 2022-23 it was known, briefly as Counties 2 Midlands West (South), before the league was split East/West giving rise to its current name. Midlands 4 West (South)
Counties 3 Midlands West (East) / (South) (formerly Midlands 4 West (South)) is a level 9 English Rugby Union league and level 4 of the Midlands League, made up of teams from the southern part of the West Midlands region including clubs from parts of Birmingham and the West Midlands, Herefordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and even on occasion Oxfordshire, with home and away matches played throughout the season. Each year some of the clubs in this division also take part in the RFU Junior Vase - a level 9-12 national competition. Formed for the 2006-07 season, the division was originally known as Midlands 5 West (South) but changed to its present name for the 2008-09 season due to league restructuring. Bournville Rugby Football Club is an English rugby union team based in Birmingham. The club has recently moved to new facilities at Avery Fields, 79 Sandon Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham B17 8DT. Old Wheatleyans RFC or Old Wheats is an English rugby union club based in Coundon, Coventry. It was formed by former pupils of Bablake School who continue to supply a large proportion of the current playing strength. The club practices and plays its home games at the Bablake Playing Fields. It shares these facilities with Christ The King Football Club, Bablake School and other clubs. The club gained promotion to Midlands 4 West South division in the penultimate game of the season 2010–2011 against local rivals Coventrians. In the following season, 2011–2012, the club finished first and its back-to-back promotions saw it elevated to Midlands 3 West South. In 2012, the club also won the Midland Junior Vase beating Bloxwich 11–3 in the final, before being narrowly beaten in the national semi-final by Baildon RFC, who went on to win the national final.
