Middle Tennessee Anime Convention
The Middle Tennessee Anime Convention (MTAC) is an annual three day anime convention held during April at the Sheraton Music City Hotel and Embassy Suites Nashville Airport in Nashville, Tennessee. Programming The convention typically features an AMV contest, artists alley, charity auction, cosplay contest, dealers room, gaming (arcade, board, card, console, tabletop), Japanese Fashion Shows, Lolita Tea Party, a ramen eating contest, rave, and panels. Table Top and Video Gaming runs 24 hours a day during the convention. History Tommy Yune was unable to attend the convention in 2010 due to the funeral of Carl Macek. Lisa Furukawa
Lisa Furukawa (古川梨沙 ''Furukawa Risa'', born January 25, 1976, Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese American pianist, singer, arranger, and songwriter based in Seattle, Washington. She has self-published 4 albums on the Yume label: ''Signal'' (2009), ''Reaching the Dragon'' (2006), ''Pearl Diver'' (2005), and ''This Moment is the Show'' (2001). The Protomen
The Protomen are an American rock band, who started their career on and are perhaps most widely known for composing concept albums loosely based on the video game series ''Mega Man''. Their stage names are largely references to pop culture films, song titles, and fictional characters. The group members refer to themselves as storytellers, creating a "rock and roll fable". History The band is composed mostly of MTSU recording program graduates, and originated in order to meet class deadlines and the need to record for their grades. Their first live performance was in April 2004. Most of the band had graduated and moved to Nashville by 2005. Peelander-Z
Peelander-Z is a Japanese-American punk rock band formed in 1998 and based in Austin, Texas. They bill themselves as a "Japanese Action Comic Punk band hailing from the Z area of Planet Peelander". While the founding members of Peelander-Z were all born in Japan, they first met and formed their band while living in Buffalo, NY. The original three members of the band were billed as Peelander Yellow, Peelander Red, and Peelander Blue. Later members of the band have adopted the same naming structure, with mostly different colors, although one name, Peelander Green, has been used by two different drummers. They perform on stage and appear in color-coordinated costumes, which they state are not costumes, but their skin. Johnny Wander
''Johnny Wander'' is a former webcomic written by Ananth Hirsh and illustrated by Yuko Ota. It was published bi-weekly. In its earlier days, the comic generally focused on slice of life stories involving Ananth, Yuko, and their friends and family following graduation from college. However, the comic occasionally encompasses unrelated fantasy storylines. The comic is currently focusing on one of its ongoing fictional storylines, "Barbarous." Neil Charles Kaplan is an American voice actor, audiobook narrator, entertainer, and comedian.
