Midasuno
Midasuno were a Welsh four-piece alternative rock band from South Wales. The band toured the United Kingdom and recorded three singles, an EP and three albums. The band are the subject of the road diary "Dial M For Merthyr" by the Welsh author Rachel Trezise. Since splitting, Scott Andrews is now a member of Exit International while Chris Morgan formed Stay Voiceless after his subsequent band Accident Music split. Gavin Jessop & Matt Riste have been involved in other projects including the short lived All The Damn Vampires. History Formation and debut In 2000, school friends Scott Andrews, Gavin Jessop, Matt Rise, Mike Cloke, and Steven Hopkins decided to form a band, originally known as Opium (not to be confused with the Merthyr-based band of the same name). Rachel Trezise
Rachel Trezise (born 1978) is a Welsh author, born in Cwmparc, Wales. Her debut collection of short stories, ''Fresh Apples'', won the inaugural Dylan Thomas Prize in 2006. Early life Rachel Trezise was born in Cwmparc, Rhondda in 1978. Her family is of Cornish origin. She was educated at Treorchy Comprehensive School before going on to study at the University of Glamorgan (now the University of South Wales) and the University of Limerick. Career Trezise's first novel, ''In and Out of the Goldfish Bowl'', was published by Parthian in 2002 while she was still a student. It received broad critical acclaim, and saw her named as a 'new face of literature' by ''Harpers & Queen'' in 2003. Merthyr Tydfil
Merthyr Tydfil (; cy, Merthyr Tudful ) is the main town in Merthyr Tydfil County Borough, Wales, administered by Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council. It is about north of Cardiff. Lostprophets (stylised as lostprophets) were a Welsh Rock music, rock band from Pontypridd, formed in 1997 by singer and lyricist Ian Watkins (Lostprophets singer), Ian Watkins and guitarist Lee Gaze. Post-hardcore
Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression. Greg Haver is a Welsh music producer, based in New Zealand. He is best known for his work with the Manic Street Preachers and Melanie C. He has worked on a number of award-winning singles and albums. With the Manic Street Preachers, he was involved in production for numerous gold and platinum accredited albums.
