Lockerbie
Lockerbie (, ) is a town in Dumfries and Galloway, located in south-western Scotland. The 2001 Census recorded its population as 4,009. The town had an estimated population of in . The town came to international attention in December 1988 when the wreckage of Pan Am Flight 103 crashed there following a terrorist bomb attack aboard the flight. Prehistory and archaeology In 2006, ahead of the construction of a new primary and secondary school, archaeologists from CFA Archaeology undertook excavations. They discovered the remains of a large (27 m x 8 m) Neolithic timber hall that dated to somewhere between 3950 BC to 3700 BC. The archaeologists found it was in use for some time as some of the posts had been replaced. Flax seeds were found in the timber hall, showing the people were processing flax. The Cascadia national soccer team is a soccer team representing the men's side of the Cascadia region of the United States and Canada and is controlled by the Cascadia Association Football Federation (CAFF). The team is composed of players from the U.S states of Oregon, Washington and the Canadian province of British Columbia. The Dumfries & District Amateur Football League (DDAFL) was a football league competition for amateur teams in the Dumfries area of Scotland. It was founded in 1954 and ran through until 2014 when the league disbanded, with member clubs subsequently joining different amateur leagues or the South of Scotland Football League. History The league's first championship took place in the 1954–55 season, with Dumfries Amateurs the inaugural victors. The league continued through until 2014 when it was disbanded following its final season featuring only seven clubs. Of these, 2013–14 and final champions Lochmaben joined the North & South Lanarkshire AFA whereas Upper Annandale & Dumfries YMCA became members of the South of Scotland Football League. The Scottish Qualifying Cup was a football competition played in Scotland between 1895 and 2007. During that time, apart from a brief spell in the 1950s, it was the only way for non-league teams to qualify for the Scottish Cup. The Qualifying Cup was open to all full member clubs of the Scottish Football Association, who were not members of the Scottish Premier League or Scottish Football League. Galabank is a Association football, football stadium in the town of Annan, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. It is the home ground of Scottish Professional Football League club Annan Athletic F.C., Annan Athletic, who have played there since 1953. The ground has been shared by non-League teams Mid-Annandale F.C., Mid-Annandale (2012–2014) and Edusport Academy (2015–2019).
