Mid-Western Regional Council
The Mid-Western Regional Council is a Local government in Australia, local government area in the Central West, New South Wales, Central West region of New South Wales, Australia. The area is located adjacent to the Castlereagh Highway that passes through the middle of the area in an approximate southeast–northwest direction. Mid-Western Regional Council was proclaimed on 26 May 2004 and incorporates the whole of the former Mudgee Shire Council and parts of the former Merriwa, New South Wales, Merriwa and Rylstone Shires. The Mid-Western Regional Council also incorporated the area of the historic Wyaldra Shire, which was abolished in an earlier round of local government amalgamations. A historic building in Gulgong, built in 1910, served as the former shire headquarters. On 26 November 2004, it assumed the assets and operations of the former Mid-Western County Council. Aarons Pass
Aarons Pass is a locality in New South Wales' Central West region in the local government area of the Mid-Western Regional Council. At the 2021 census, the locality had a population of 33. Aarons Pass is the first Australian Bureau of Statistics Suburbs and Localities (SAL) mesh block when listed alphabetically. Etymology Aaron's Pass, a mountain saddle located in the centre of the locality, is the origin of the locality's name. The saddle, in turn, is named for Wiradjuri elder Aaron. Geography The Cudgegong Creek, a tributary of the Cudgegong River, forms part of the locality's western boundary. The Castlereagh Highway (B55) runs north–south through the locality's centre. Ilford, New South Wales
Ilford is a village in New South Wales, Australia, beside the Crudine River within the Mid-Western Regional Council. It is located on the Castlereagh Highway (locally referred to as the 'Sydney Road'), about 220 kilometres north-west of Sydney. At the 2016 census Ilford and the surrounding rural district had a population of 187, living in 65 private dwellings. The district also included 43 unoccupied private dwellings. Ilford was named after the English township of Ilford (in Essex, now a part of Greater London), from where early residents of the locality originated. Mudgee () is a town in the Central West of New South Wales, Australia. It is in the broad fertile Cudgegong River valley north-west of Sydney and is the largest town in the Mid-Western Regional Council local government area as well as being the council seat.
