''Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024'' is a flight simulation video game developed by Asobo Studio and published by Xbox Game Studios. A successor to ''Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020 video game), Microsoft Flight Simulator'' (2020), the game was released on November 19, 2024, for Windows and the Xbox Series X/S. It was announced at the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase on June 11, 2023. It includes a career mode with missions such as agricultural flight and firefighting. It uses Asobo's in-house Game engine, engine. The current latest version of the simulator is Sim Update 2, with the latest beta version being Sim Update 3. Asobo Studio
Asobo Studio SAS is a French video game developer based in Bordeaux and founded in 2002. The studio is most known for developing video game adaptations of several Pixar movies, ''A Plague Tale: Innocence'', and the 2020 and 2024 versions of ''Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020 video game), Microsoft Flight Simulator''. To develop most of their games, they use their own game engine called Zouna, which was originally developed in the 1990s by some of their own employees who used to work at Kalisto Entertainment. Nap-of-the-earth (NOE) is a type of very low-altitude flight course used by military aircraft to avoid enemy detection and attack in a high-threat environment. Other, mostly older terms include "contour flying", "ground-hugging", "terrain masking", "flying under the radar" and "hedgehopping". During NOE flight, geographical features are used as cover, exploiting valleys and folds in the terrain by flying in, rather than over, them. An aerial crane or flying crane is a helicopter used to lift heavy or awkward loads.
