Micro-LED
MicroLED, also known as micro-LED, mLED or μLED is an emerging flat-panel display technology consisting of arrays of microscopic LEDs forming the individual pixel elements. Inorganic semiconductor microLED (μLED) technology was first invented in 2000 by the research group of Hongxing Jiang and Jingyu Lin of Texas Tech University (TTU) while they were at Kansas State University (KSU). The first high-resolution and video-capable InGaN microLED microdisplay in VGA format was realized in 2009 by Jiang, Lin and their colleagues at Texas Tech University and III-N Technology, Inc. via active driving of a microLED array by a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) IC. Jingyu Lin () is a Chinese-American physicist and engineer working in the field of wide bandgap semiconductors and photonic devices. She is a co-inventor of MicroLED. In 2000, the husband-wife research team led by Hongxing Jiang and Jingyu Lin at Kansas State University (KSU) proposed and realized the operation of the first MicroLED and passive driving MicroLED microdisplay. Hongxing Jiang ( Chinese: 江红星) is a Chinese-American physicist and engineer working in the field of wide bandgap semiconductors and photonic devices. He is the original inventor of MicroLED. Jade is an umbrella term for two different types of decorative rocks used for jewelry or ornaments. Tianma Micro-Electronics
Tianma ( ', "heavenly horse") was a winged (perhaps metaphorically) flying horse in Chinese folklore. Mythology The Tianma is a flying horse that was sometimes depicted with chimerical features such as dragon scales and was at times attributed the ability to sweat blood, possibly inspired by the parasite '' Parafilaria multipapillosa'', which infected the highly sought-after Ferghana horse (), sometimes conflated with Tianma. Tianma, the flying horse, is clearly connected to Pegasus from the Western Han dynasty artwork and in the Tang dynasty sources, as coming from Hellenized Central Asia. Plessey
The Plessey Company plc was a British electronics, defence and telecommunications company. It originated in 1917, growing and diversifying into electronics. It expanded after World War II by acquisition of companies and formed overseas companies. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange and was a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index. In 1989, it was taken over by a consortium formed by GEC and Siemens which split the assets of the Plessey group.
