Mickey Jannis
Mickey Scott Jannis (born December 16, 1987) is an American professional baseball knuckleball pitcher for the High Point Rockers of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Baltimore Orioles. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 44th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft. Career Tampa Bay Rays Jannis was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 44th round, 1331st overall, of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft out of California State University, Bakersfield. He made his professional debut with the Rookie-level Princeton Rays, logging a 3–1 record and 2.52 ERA in 14 appearances. The next year, Jannis split the season between the Low-A Hudson Valley Renegades and the High-A Charlotte Stone Crabs, posting a cumulative 4–3 record and 3.30 ERA with 45 strikeouts in 57.1 innings of work. Charlotte Stone Crabs
The Charlotte Stone Crabs were a Minor League Baseball team located in Port Charlotte, Florida, from 2009 to 2020. They competed in the Florida State League (FSL) as the Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays Major League Baseball (MLB) team. They played their home games at Charlotte Sports Park and were named for the Florida stone crab, which is indigenous to the Charlotte County region. The Stone Crabs arrived in Port Charlotte in 2009 after the Vero Beach Devil Rays were purchased by Ripken Baseball and relocated from Vero Beach, Florida. They played 11 seasons in Port Charlotte. The Norfolk Tides are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs are an American professional baseball team based in Waldorf, Maryland. They are members of the North Division of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, an independent "partner league" of Major League Baseball.
