Michèle Cloonan
Michèle V. Cloonan (born July 14, 1955) is an American library and information science educator. She is a professor in the School of Library and Information Science at Simmons University, in Boston, Massachusetts, and Dean Emerita of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at Simmons. She is an advocate for the preservation of cultural heritage. Cloonan is known for her interdisciplinary approach to the study of preservation. She has examined preservation's cultural, political, social, and historical aspects and called for an increased respect for cultural differences in the preservation of cultural objects. She has also studied the role of women in book trade history with a particular focus on bookbinding and collecting. Simmons University
Simmons University (previously Simmons College) is a private university in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. It was established in 1899 by clothing manufacturer John Simmons. In 2018, it reorganized its structure and changed its name to a university. Its undergraduate program is women-focused while its graduate programs are co-educational. Simmons is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education. As of 2020, 83percent of applicants to undergraduate programs were accepted. The Society of American Archivists is the oldest and largest archivist Voluntary association, association in North America, serving the educational and informational needs of more than 5,000 individual archivist and institutional members.
