Michelle Connor (also McDonald) is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'', portrayed by former Hear'Say singer, Kym Marsh. The character first appeared on-screen during the episode airing on 3 April 2006. Marsh took maternity leave in January 2011, and the character returned on 3 November 2011. On 24 February 2019, it was announced that Marsh would be leaving the soap after 13 years and Michelle's final episode aired on 27 December 2019. Katherine Sinead Kelly (born 19 November 1979) is an English actress and presenter, who made her TV debut in 2003, appearing on ''Last of the Summer Wine''. Kelly rose to prominence after portraying Becky McDonald in the ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'' between 2006 and 2012. Rebecca McDonald (also Granger) is a fictional character from the British soap opera ''Coronation Street'', played by Katherine Kelly. Becky was created by producer Tony Wood, and made her debut in the episode airing on 5 February 2006. Hear'Say were a British pop group. They were created through the ITV reality TV show ''Popstars'' in February 2001, the first UK series of the international ''Popstars'' franchise. The group, who were signed to Polydor Records, originally consisted of Danny Foster, Myleene Klass, Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw, and Noel Sullivan. Hear'Say achieved instant fame, breaking chart records with their debut single " Pure and Simple" and the album ''Popstars''. However, their second album failed to match this success.
