Michalis Souyioul
Michail Sougioultzoglou ( ; 1 August 1906 – 16 October 1958), known professionally as Michalis Souyioul ( ) was a prominent Greek composer of light music in the early 20th century. Biography He was born in Aydın, in the Ottoman Empire on 1 August 1906. His family were wealthy skinners. They emigrated to Athens in 1920. He was a relative of well-known Greek photographer Nelly's. He initially worked as a self-employed pianist and later went to Marseille to study music. From 1931, he toured Europe with an Argentinian orchestra. During the Interwar period and the 1950s, he was extremely prolific, writing over 700 songs in different styles (Tango music, tango, waltz, serenades, Greek folk music, folk, laiko, Romance (music), romances amongst others). He composed also music for the Greek theatre (45 productions) and for Greek cinema, Greek movies (ten films). His compositions were among some of the most popular pieces of the time. Alekos Sakellarios (; 13 November 1913 in Athens – 28 August 1991 in Athens) was a Greece, Greek writer and a director. He was born in Athens and grew up in Agios Panteleimonas, Athens, Agios Panteleimonas and began to study journalism and acting at a young age. He wrote his first theatrical play in 1935 called ''The King of Halva''. Stroke is a medical condition in which poor cerebral circulation, blood flow to a part of the brain causes cell death. Aliki Stamatina Vougiouklaki (Greek: Αλίκη Σταματίνα Βουγιουκλάκη Greek pronunciation: ˈlici stamaˈtina vuʝuˈklaci 20 July 1934 – 23 July 1996) was a Greek cinema and theater actress, singer and theatrical producer. She is one of the most popular actresses in Greece, and was often referred to as "the National Star of Greece". Theatrically, she mostly starred in renditions of widely known Broadway musicals as well as multiple Greek tragedy plays. Vougiouklaki died in 1996 at the age of 62, just three months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Stella Greka (; born Styliani Lagada; 1 April 1922 – 6 January 2025) was a Greek singer, who appeared occasionally in cinema, as an actress. Early life Greka was born in Athens, Attica, on 1 April 1922, the youngest of nine children in a poor family. The eldest was born in 1899. Her birth name was Lagada. Her father was born in Plaka, in 1868. He was a set designer and worked with Evangelia Paraskevopoulou, as well as having relationships with other important people, such as Pantelis Horn. At home they listened to operas and good music. She appeared young on the music scene of the capital, and from the age of 8 the Athenian press had mentioned her.
