Michalis Arkadis
Michalis Arkadis (; 37 October 1937 – 20 May 1990) was a Greek shipowner and a football agent, who served as president of AEK Athens. Early life Arkadis had studied maritime science at the University of Southampton and was a successful shipowner based in Piraeus. AEK Athens He was actively involved with AEK since the early 1970's and was a member of many boards of directors under the presidency of Loukas Barlos. In the 1982–83 season, when the then owner of AEK, Andreas Zafiropoulos stepped down from the presidency of the club, Arkadis he took over as president of AEK. During his presidency, he hired Helmut Senekowitsch as coach and won the Greek Cup in 1983. A.E.K. (; Athlitikí Énosis Konstantinoupόleos, ''Athletic Union of Constantinople'') is a major Greece, Greek multi-sport club based in Nea Filadelfeia, Attica. The Greek Football Cup (), commonly known as the Greek Cup or Betsson Greek Cup for sponsorship reasons is a Greek football competition, run by the Hellenic Football Federation. The Greek Cup is the second-most important domestic men's football event, after the championship of Super League. The organizing authority of the institution is the Hellenic Football Federation ( EPO). Since its inception in 1931 it has been held 83 times, with a cup winner being crowned on 82 occasions. Georgios Kamaras Stadium
Georgios Kamaras Stadium () is a multi-purpose stadium in Athens, Greece. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Apollon Smyrnis. The stadium holds 14,200 and was built in 1948. It was used by Olympiacos for about 2 years (2002–2004) as home ground, due to the construction of their new stadium Karaiskaki. Since 2005. the stadium is named Georgios Kamaras, in honour of Georgios Kamaras, old glorious player of Apollon. History The stadium was built in 1948 and its inauguration took place on October 17 that year with the presence of some 10,000 fans. Thomas Mavros
Thomas Mavros (, born 31 May 1954) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a striker. Initially, a legend for Panionios, he was a relevation of the Greek championship at the age of 16. He became one of the leaders of AEK Athens and led them to huge success, during the 70's and 80's. Mavros is widely regarded as one of the best footballers in Greece having scored a record number of 260 goals in the Greek championship and played for the World XI in 1984. Helmut Senekowitsch (; 22 October 1933 – 9 September 2007) was an Austrian football player and later a football manager. Playing career Club career He played for several clubs, including SK Sturm Graz, Real Betis and FC Wacker Innsbruck. International career He played for the Austria national football team and was a participant at the 1958 FIFA World Cup. He earned 18 caps, scoring 5 goals. Andreas Zafiropoulos
Andreas Zafiropoulos () is a Greek businessman and was the major shareholder of AEK Athens F.C. for eleven years, from 1981 to 1992. During this time, he sometimes gave up the presidency and management, but always kept the shares. During his days, AEK won 2 Championships and 1 Cup a Super Cup and a League Cup. In 1992 he sold the shares of the club to the duo Dimitris Melissanidis and Giannis Karras. Since then he has not been actively involved with AEK, but from time to time he participates in various events and actions of the team. Loukas Barlos
Loukas Barlos (; 1920 – 20 October 1999) was a Greek businessman who served as the twenty third president of AEK Athens F.C. from 1974 until 1981. Early life Barlos was born and raised in Thessaloniki, but his place of origin was Distomo in Boeotia. As a youngster, he was a supporter of Aris and even tried out with the club. He was the owner of bauxite factories and other mining enterprises. In 1955, he married Noni Vasiliadou and later they had 2 children, Thanasis and Lucy.
