Michal Ondo
Michal Ondo (born 20 February 1985), nicknamed Máchal, is a Czech professional darts player and a member of the team Barbaři Sedlec. Career Michal started playing in 2001 and he belongs to the best and most successful Czech players. In soft-tip darts he is fourth times National champion in teams and in 2017 he dominated the tournament in singles. His first successful year in steel darts came in 2011, in which he made three big achievements. He became National champion in singles and also started to compete abroad, finishing 3rd in Hungaria Open and Vienna Open. In 2012 he became National champion in teams with DC Bizoni. In 2014 he finished 3rd in Romania Open. In the same year he won in Czech Cup and in the National championship in doubles. Vysoké Mýto
Vysoké Mýto (; german: Hohenmaut, also ''Hohenmauth'') is a town in Ústí nad Orlicí District in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 12,000 inhabitants. Its town square is the largest example of its type in the country. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. Administrative parts Vysoké Mýto is made up of town parts of Choceňské Předměstí, Litomyšlské Předměstí, Pražské Předměstí and Vysoké Mýto-Město, and villages of Brteč, Domoradice, Knířov, Lhůta, Svařeň and Vanice. The 2014 Winmau World Masters was a major tournament on the BDO/ WDF calendar for 2014. It took place from 9–12 October, with 9 October played at the Bonus Arena for the non-stage matches, and 10–12 October played at the Hull City Hall, which hosted the stage element of the event for the fourth year. Stephen Bunting was unable to defend his title due to his switch to the PDC. Deta Hedman attempted to defend the title she won in 2013 as the number 1 seed. Maud Jansson defeated her 4–2 in the last 64 though. Another seed that was knocked out before the quarter-finals was Lorraine Winstanley who lost 1–3 in the last 16 to Lisa Ashton. Anastasia Dobromyslova ended up winning the competition by defeating Fallon Sherrock 4–1 in the final. In the men's final Martin Phillips defeated Jamie Hughes 7–3. It took place from 11 to 14 October, with 11 October play at the Costello Stadium for the untelevised matches, and 12–14 October play at the Hull City Hall, which hosted the televised element of the event for the second time, taking over from the nearby Hull Arena who hosted for one year in 2011 Scott Waites and Lisa Ashton both attempted to defend their titles they won for the first time last year, however Stephen Bunting and Julie Gore took the main titles after Waites and Ashton lost their opening matches. This tournament was known for being Phill Nixon's last major tournament. Nixon died on 9 August 2013 from cancer. It took place from 1–4 September in the Hull Arena, which hosted the event for the first time, taking over from the nearby Hull City Hall. Winmau World Masters
The World Masters is one of the longest-running and most prestigious of the BDO/WDF tournaments, which began in 1974. The tournament is sponsored by darts board manufacturer, Winmau. The World Masters was unusual in darts in that its sets are the best of 3 legs (first to 2) rather than the standard best of 5 legs (first to 3). It was previously the final leg of the BDO's Grand Slam title of televised majors, along with the BDO World Darts Championship, International Darts League and World Darts Trophy, until the latter two tournaments were axed in 2008. The champion is referred to as the World Master. After the collapse of the British Darts Organisation in September 2020, the World Darts Federation announced plans to launch the WDF World Masters.
