Michaela Marksová
Michaela Marksová (born Michaela Tominová 20 March 1969) is a Czech Republic, Czech politician. From January 2014, she was the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (Czech Republic), Czech Minister of Labour and Social Affairs in Bohuslav Sobotka's Cabinet, the government of Bohuslav Sobotka, and the spokesperson on human rights and families, leaving the posts in December 2017 following legislative elections. Since 2006, she has been a council member for the Czech Social Democratic Party in the Prague 2 district council. She is a niece of the philosopher Julius Tomin and Zdena Tomin, Zdenka Tomin, former Charter 77 speaker. Czech Social Democratic Party
Social Democracy (, SOCDEM), known as the Czech Social Democratic Party (, ČSSD) until 10 June 2023, is a social democratic political party in the Czech Republic. Sitting on the centre-left of the political spectrum and holding pro-European views, it is a member of the Party of European Socialists, the Socialist International, and the Progressive Alliance. Masaryk Democratic Academy is the party-affiliated's think tank. Charter 77 (''Charta 77'' in Czech language, Czech and Slovak language, Slovak) was an informal civic initiative in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic from 1976 to 1992, named after the document Charter 77 from January 1977. Julius Tomin
Julius Tomin (born 2 December 1938) is a Czech philosopher. He became known in the 1970s and 1980s for his involvement with the Jan Hus Educational Foundation, which ran an underground education network in the former Czechoslovakia, offering seminars in philosophy in people's homes. Early life and education Tomin studied English and Russian in Czechoslovakia. Agreeing with Tolstoy's and Gandhi's views on non-violence, he refused to do military service, for which he served a prison sentence. Subsequently, he attempted to depart the country for Sweden but was apprehended, resulting in an additional year of service. Upon his release, he secured a position as a forester and later worked as a ward assistant in a psychiatric hospital. Prague 2, formally the Prague 2 Municipal District (''Městská čast Praha 2''), is a second-tier municipality in Prague. Bohuslav Sobotka
Bohuslav Sobotka (; born 23 October 1971) is a Czech politician and lawyer who served as the prime minister of the Czech Republic from January 2014 to December 2017 and leader of the Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD) from 2010 until his resignation in June 2017. He was a member of the Chamber of Deputies (MP) from 1996 to 2018. Sobotka also served as Minister of Finance from 2002 to 2006.
