Michael Young (16 December 1958 – 16 September 2018) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club and Melbourne Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Michael Brian Young (born October 19, 1976) is an American former professional baseball infielder who played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Texas Rangers (baseball), Texas Rangers, Philadelphia Phillies, and Los Angeles Dodgers. Since 2014, Young has worked in the Rangers’ front office as a Special Assistant to the General Manager. Originally a second baseman, the versatile Young was a five-time Major League Baseball All-Star Game, All-Star at shortstop, once at third base, and once as a combination designated hitter / utility infielder. Michael Darcy Young (born August 15, 1944) is a Canadian former bobsledder who competed in the 1960s. He won two medals at the 1965 FIBT World Championships in St. Moritz with a gold in the four-man event and a bronze in the two-man event. In 1966, he was severely injured during a four-man competition at the bobsleigh track in Lake Placid, New York, when his sled hit the superstructure of the track at Turns 13 and 14, known as the "Zig-Zag Curves", damaging his face. Young was rushed to the hospital in Lake Placid, then flown to a hospital in Montreal to undergo extensive plastic surgery. This crash killed his compatriot Sergio Zardini and also featured future FIBT president Robert H. Storey. Young got involved with bobsleigh, after being introduced to the sport by his cousin Vic Emery while studying at the University of Western Ontario. He was hired on April 7, 2019, after a 17-year stint where he went 299–244 () as the head coach at Wofford College. Michael Darren Young (March 20, 1960 – May 28, 2023) was an American professional baseball player. Career Young played all or part of eight seasons in Major League Baseball, from 1982 to 1989, mostly as an outfielder and designated hitter. He played for the Baltimore Orioles for most of his major league career, but also played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Milwaukee Brewers, and Cleveland Indians. In 1990, he played in Japan for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. Young's best season was 1985, when he hit .273 with 28 home runs and 81 runs batted in for the Orioles. On May 28, 1987, Young became the fifth player in major league history to hit two extra-inning home runs in one game. He homered in the 10th inning and hit a walk-off home run in the 12th inning to beat the California Angels, 8–7, at Baltimore's Memorial Stadium.
