Michael Wisher
Andrew Michael Wisher (19 May 1935 – 21 July 1995) was an English actor. He played various roles on ''Doctor Who'' and was the first actor to play the villain Davros. Life and career Born 19 May 1935, in London, Wisher appeared in a number of television series before making his ''Doctor Who'' debut in ''The Seeds of Death'' providing a radio voiceover. His first onscreen appearance was as John Wakefield in ''The Ambassadors of Death'' in 1970. The following year he played Rex Farrel in ''Terror of the Autons''. In 1973, Wisher began voicing the Daleks with ''Frontier in Space'', and in 1975 he originated the role of Dalek creator Davros in ''Genesis of the Daleks''. He was unavailable to reprise the role in ''Destiny of the Daleks'' (1979) and ''Resurrection of the Daleks'' (1984), so was replaced by other actors. ''The Bill'' is a British police procedural television series, broadcast on ITV (TV network), ITV from 16 October 1984 until 31 August 2010. The programme originated from a one-off drama, "Woodentop (The Bill), Woodentop" (part of the ''Storyboard'' series), broadcast on 16 August 1983. ITV were so impressed with the drama that a full series was commissioned. ''Tales of the Unexpected'' (known as ''Roald Dahl's Tales of the Unexpected'' for the first two series) is a British television series that aired between 1979 and 1988. ''Wartime'' is a 1988 direct-to-video science fiction film produced by Reeltime Pictures. It is the first professionally produced, authorized independent spin-off of the British television series ''Doctor Who'', and the only such production to be made while the original run of the show was still on the air. Produced and directed by Keith Barnfather and written by Andy Lane and Helen Stirling, ''Wartime'' follows Warrant Officer John Benton of the United Nations Intelligence Taskforce. ''Airline'' is a British television series produced by Yorkshire Television for the ITV network in 1982. The series starred Roy Marsden as Jack Ruskin, a pilot demobbed after the end of the Second World War who starts his own air transport business. ''Dixon of Dock Green'' is a BBC police procedural television series about daily life at a fictional London police station, with the emphasis on petty crime, successfully controlled through common sense and human understanding. It ran from 1955 to 1976. The central character, George Dixon, first appeared in the film ''The Blue Lamp'' (1950). Dixon is a mature and sympathetic police constable, who was played by Jack Warner (actor), Jack Warner in all of the 432 episodes.
