Michael Welch is an American actor. He is best known for the role of Luke Girardi on the television series ''Joan of Arcadia'' and for the role of Mike Newton (Twilight), Mike Newton in the films ''Twilight (2008 film), Twilight'', ''The Twilight Saga: New Moon, New Moon'', ''The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Eclipse'' and ''The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, Breaking Dawn''. Career Welch is known for his role as Mike Newton in ''The Twilight Saga (film series), The Twilight Saga'' film series. Michael Welch (born 11 January 1982) is a football coach and former player. Born in England, he is a former Republic of Ireland youth international. Career Welch was born in Crewe. His other previous clubs include Barnsley and Macclesfield Town. A former Republic of Ireland youth international, he was signed by Stanley prior to the start of the 2005–06 season after creating a superb impression in the pre season games. He started his career as a trainee at Barnsley and on his release in 2001, he was signed by Macclesfield going on to make his debut towards the end of his first season. Before leaving he made over a century of appearances. In December 2006, a goal he scored against Stockport was awarded the accolade of coming second in the "Goal of the Year 2006" competition, bettered only by a goal scored by Argentina in the FIFA World Cup. Michael Francis Welch (July 4, 1859 – July 30, 1941), nicknamed "Smiling Mickey", was an American professional baseball pitcher. He stood tall and weighed . He was the third pitcher to accumulate 300 career victories. Welch was born in Brooklyn, New York, and played 13 seasons in the major leagues, three with the Troy Trojans, and 10 with the New York Gothams/Giants. He was very successful with an effective curveball, a change of pace, and a version of the screwball. During his 13 major league seasons, he posted 20 or more wins nine times, seven in succession. Mike Welch (American Football)
Michael Walter Welch (born June 11, 1951) is a former American football coach. He has served as the head football coach at Ithaca College from 1994 to 2016. Athlete Welch attended high school in Dansville, New York, where he played football at the halfback and linebacker positions. Welch enrolled at Ithaca College athletics in 1969 and played both football and lacrosse. He played for Ithaca's varsity football team under College Football Hall of Fame coach Jim Butterfield from 1970 to 1972. After missing most of his sophomore year with an ankle injury, Welch gained 467 yards on 117 carries as a junior in 1971. As a senior in 1972, he played fullback and was selected as the team captain. He gained 257 yards on 61 attempts in 1972. Michael Paul Welch (born August 25, 1972) is an American former professional baseball pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB). Amateur career Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Welch grew up in Nashua, NH and went to Nashua High School South, Nashua High School. He attended the University of Southern Maine where he played college baseball. During his time there, in 1991 he helped lead Southern Maine to winning a National Championship. Welch is also tied for the record for most strikeouts recorded in an American Legion game, racking up 20 strikeouts in the Northeast American Legion Regional Tournament. In 1992, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League, and returned to the league in 1993 to play for the Orleans Cardinals.
