Michael Watson (lacrosse)
Michael Watson (born October 24, 1974) is an American lacrosse player who starred in college at the University of Virginia before moving on to play professional lacrosse in Major League Lacrosse. He is a Baltimore native. High school and collegiate career Michael Watson attended prep school at St. Paul's School in Brooklandville, Maryland, where he was a high school All-American. He played NCAA Division I lacrosse at the University of Virginia from 1994 and 1997. As a prolific attackman, Watson garnered numerous awards and helped lead the Virginia Cavaliers to two NCAA national championship appearances, one in 1994 and one in 1996. In both title games, however, Princeton defeated Virginia by one goal in overtime. Los Angeles Riptide
The Los Angeles Riptide were a professional lacrosse team based in Carson, California. From 2006 to 2008, they played in Major League Lacrosse and ceased operations before the 2009 season. The members of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame are inducted by US Lacrosse and are enshrined at the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum, National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. The National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum, is located in Sparks, Maryland, at the USA Lacrosse headquarters. Prior to moving to its present location in 2016, the hall of fame and museum was located in Baltimore, Maryland, on the Homewood campus of Johns Hopkins University. World Lacrosse Championship
The World Lacrosse Men's Championship is the international men's field lacrosse championship organized by World Lacrosse that occurs every four years. The WLC began before any international lacrosse organization had been formed. It started as a four-team invitational tournament which coincided with Canada's centennial lacrosse celebration in 1967. Canada, the United States, Australia, and England participated. Seven years later, Australia celebrated its lacrosse centenary and another four-team invitational tournament was held between the same countries. After that tournament in 1974, the first international governing body for men's lacrosse was formed, the International Lacrosse Federation (ILF). The ILF merged with the women's governing body in 2008 to form the Federation of International Lacrosse, which changed its name to World Lacrosse in 2019. Doug Knight
Doug Knight is an American lacrosse player who had a standout collegiate career at the University of Virginia, where he set numerous scoring records. He was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2017. High school and collegiate career A native of Katonah, New York, Knight attended Hackley School in Tarrytown NY through the 10th grade and then attended prep school at the Westminster School in Connecticut, where he excelled in lacrosse, soccer, and ice hockey and was selected as a high school lacrosse All-American. Knight played attack at the University of Virginia from 1994 to 1997, where he set numerous scoring records and was named a three time All-American, as a Second Team selection in 1995 and a First Team selection in 1996 and 1997.
