Michael Vigor
Michael James Vigor (born 17 September 1990) is a Scottish-born Australian professional basketball player for the Willetton Tigers of the NBL1 West. He made his debut in the State Basketball League (SBL) for the Perth Redbacks in 2008 and in 2011 joined the Perth Wildcats of the National Basketball League (NBL) as a development player. He won an NBL championship with the Wildcats in 2014 and an SBL championship with the Redbacks in 2017. He played in Europe between 2015 and 2020, and in 2018 he represented Scotland at the Commonwealth Games. Early life Vigor was born in Westhill, Scotland, to an English father and a Scottish mother. He lived there for the first five years of his life before being raised in Australia. Vigor attended Wesley College in Perth, Western Australia, where he played for the school's basketball team. Perth Redbacks
Perth Redbacks is an NBL1 West club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club fields a team in both the Men's and Women's NBL1 West. The club is a division of Perth Basketball Association (PBA), the major administrative basketball organisation in Perth's eastern suburbs and across the CBD. The Redbacks play their home games at Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre. Club history Background Perth Basketball Association (PBA) was established in 1964 as Perth Basketball Club. The club nickname was originally the Demons. Perth's men's team won two titles in the 1960s which was followed by titles in 1972, 1973, 1976 and 1977. The women's team won a premiership in 1975. Mandurah Magic is an NBL1 West club based in Mandurah, Western Australia. The club fields a team in both the Men's and Women's NBL1 West. The club is a division of Mandurah Basketball Association (MBA), the major administrative basketball organisation in the region. The Magic play their home games at Mandurah Aquatic & Recreation Centre. Club history Background Mandurah Basketball Association (MBA) was established in 1957. In 1983, MBA moved into the Mandurah Aquatic & Recreation Centre following the stadium's completion of four new courts. The 2024 NBL1 West season was the fourth season of the NBL1 West and 35th overall in State Basketball League (SBL) / NBL1 West history. The 2021 NBL1 West season was the inaugural season of the NBL1 West following the rebrand of the State Basketball League (SBL) under the NBL1 banner. It marked the 32nd season in league history after the 2020 State Basketball League season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia, COVID-19 pandemic.
