Michael Tyburski
Michael Tyburski (born August 8, 1984) is an American film director and screenwriter, best known for directing ''The Sound of Silence'', which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. The film was acquired for international distribution by Sony Pictures Worldwide. and by IFC Films in the United States. His short film Palimpsest premiered at Sundance in 2013, where it won a Special Jury Award, and his short Actor Seeks Role was featured on The New Yorkers Screening Room series. In 2013, he was named amongst the "25 New Faces of Independent Film" by ''Filmmaker Magazine''. The Northeast Kingdom (also, locally, "The Kingdom" and abbreviated NEK) is the northeast corner of the U.S. state of Vermont, approximately comprising Essex, Orleans and Caledonia counties and having a population at the 2010 census of 64,764. Santa Fe University of Art and Design (SFUAD) was a private, for-profit art school in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The university was built from the non-profit College of Santa Fe (CSF), a Catholic facility founded as St. Michael's College in 1859, and renamed the College of Santa Fe in 1966. After financial difficulties in 2009, the college closed and the campus was purchased by the City of Santa Fe, the State of New Mexico, and Laureate Education, and reopened with a narrowed focus on film, theater, graphic design and fine arts.
