Mike Solomon
Michael Solomon (born September 29, 1954) is a retired sprinter from Trinidad and Tobago. Biography Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, Solomon later moved to the United States where he attended George W. Wingate High School and then the University of New Mexico. He specialized in the 600-yard run and won the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) championship in the discipline with a conference and school record mark in 1974 and 1975. He won the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championship in the indoor 600-yard run in 1977 and was twice selected an All-American at New Mexico, having set some records at the school that remained decades later. He later won titles in the 600-yard run at the US championships in 1979 and 1981. Internationally, Solomon represented his native country at the 1976 Summer Olympics and competed in the 400 metres and 4 x 400 metres relay, reaching the semifinals in the former while helping his team place sixth in the latter. Meyer Solomon
Michael (Meyer) Solomon was a successful Bishopsgate manufacturer, and was one of the first Jews to be admitted to the freedom of the City of London. Solomon's family arrived in England from Europe, possibly Holland or Germany, sometime at the end of the eighteenth century. His wife's name was Catherine (Kate) Levy, and he was the father of eight children. Three of these—Abraham, Rebecca, and Simeon—became notable painters, their other children were named Aaron, Betsy, Isaac, Ellen, and Sylvester. Solomon lived in a well established Jewish community in No. 3 Sandys Street, Bishopsgate, London, and his considerable wealth allowed him to be accepted by London society while maintaining their heritage. His business concern was as a manufacturer of Leghorn hats. Michael Alexander (bishop)
Michael Solomon Alexander (1 May 1799 – 23 November 1845) was the first Anglican Bishop in Jerusalem. Life He was the second son and one of five children born to Alexander Wolff. His ancestors may have come to Prussia from England, or may have been in Schönlanke for many generations. His education in the Talmud began when he was seven years old, and from age sixteen to twenty, he was a teacher in his community of both Talmud and the German language. He emigrated to England in about 1820, and became a private tutor for a Jewish family in Colchester. Then he became rabbi at Norwich. Here he came into contact with William Marsh, a stalwart of the ''London Society for Promoting Christianity Amongst the Jews'' (now known as the Church's Ministry Among Jewish People or CMJ). Michael Jay Solomon (born January 20, 1938) is an American businessman, and entertainment executive. Solomon's career spans more than 55 years in the media and content distribution business. He is the founder, chairman and president of several publicly and privately held companies. Solomon has founded or sits on the board of philanthropic organizations benefiting education, public health, and the arts.
