Michael Sheehy
Michael Sheehy is a Democratic member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 46th district. He was appointed to the post in June 2013 to replace Matt Szollosi, who stepped down to take a position as executive director of Affiliated Construction Trades of Ohio. Sheehy had served on the city council of Oregon, Ohio since 1993, and was running for re-election to the council when he was appointed to the House of Representatives. Matt Szollosi
Matthew A. "Matt" Szollosi (; born June 4, 1972) is a former Democratic member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing Toledo and Lucas County. As of 2022, he is executive director of Affiliated Construction Trades Ohio, an organization which represents the state's building trades. Career Szollosi was born in Toledo on June 4, 1972. His parents, Francis M. and Emma J. Szollosi (née Oravecz), have Hungarian roots. He received both his B.A. in English and his Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo. His wife is Melanie L. Szollosi (née Czubek), they have a daughter, Audrey Mae. His grandfather, Fritz Szollosi served as a postmaster and as a Lucas County Commissioner, his other grandfather, John Babarcsik, who also had Hungarian roots, had worked at the Powertrain facility for close to thirty years. Oregon is a city in Lucas County, Ohio. It is a lakefront suburb of Toledo, located on Lake Erie, just east of the city. Oregon is known for its scenic lakefront, bike trails, and Maumee Bay State Park. The population was 19,950 at the 2020 Census. There are also two refineries and the Bayshore Power Plant within the city. History Oregon was once part of the Great Black Swamp. The swamp area was rich with oak, hickory, ash, walnut, elm and maple trees. This led to the establishment of numerous sawmills and settlements. The harvested forests created rich farmland, but the area remained swampy and there was a need for storm drainage. The Ohio House of Representatives is the lower house of the Ohio General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Ohio; the other house of the bicameral legislature being the Ohio Senate. The House of Representatives first met in Chillicothe on March 3, 1803, under the later superseded state constitution of that year. In 1816, the capital was moved to Columbus, where it is located today.
