Michael Eugene Sharp
Michael Eugene Sharp (April 24, 1954 – November 19, 1997) was an American serial killer who abducted and killed two women and one girl in West Texas in 1982, but is thought to be responsible for at least two further murders. Convicted for two of the killings and sentenced to death for one of them, Sharp was executed in 1997. Crimes Sharp's first known crime dates back to March 1975, when the then-20-year-old broke into the home of a woman, tied her up and stole all the valuables from the home. The victim survived and her testimony led to his identification and arrest only a few days later, with Sharp subsequently being convicted and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for two counts of aggravated robbery and theft by check. He was sent to serve this sentence at the Huntsville Unit, but was granted early parole in mid-1979, whereupon he moved to Odessa and found a job as a toolpusher on local oilrigs. Michael William Sharp
Michael William Sharp (1776? – 1840) was an English painter. Life He was born in London, and was a pupil of Sir William Beechey. He also studied in the schools of the Royal Academy. In about 1804 he married the actress and dancer Arabella Menage (1782–1817). In 1813 he was in Norwich, where he lodged with John Crome, perhaps a former teacher, and godfather to one of his sons. He became one of the prominent painters of the Norwich school, with whom he exhibited for some years. Sharp later was in London, and died at Boulogne in 1840. Works Sharp appeared as a portrait-painter at the Royal Academy in 1801, but he became known as a painter of small domestic scenes, usually of a humorous character. His works were populist, and successful in his day. ''The Music Master'', exhibited at the British Institution in 1809, gained a premium and was purchased by Thomas Hope (1769–1831), Thomas Hope. Michael David Sharp (born November 26, 1969), known by the pseudonym Rex Parker, is an American blogger known for writing about the ''New York Times'' crossword puzzle on his blog, ''Rex Parker Does the NYT Crossword Puzzle''. Sharp teaches English at Binghamton University in New York. Early life, education, and career Sharp grew up in Fresno, California. He went to Pomona College as an undergraduate and earned his PhD in English from the University of Michigan in 1999. He became interested in crossword puzzles in his senior year of college in 1990. While in graduate school, he often solved crosswords in free newspapers found in cafés. Sharp joined the English department of Binghamton University in 1999.
