Matt Orford
Matthew Orford (born 22 April 1978), also known by the nickname of "The Ox", is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 2000s and 2010s. He played for the Gosford Townies as a junior. A City New South Wales representative , he played the majority of his club football career in Australia for National Rugby League clubs Melbourne Storm and Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, representing the latter when he won 2008's Dally M Medal and NRL premiership. Orford also played for NRL sides Northern Eagles and Canberra Raiders, as well as in Super League for England's Bradford Bulls. Lance Todd Trophy
The Lance Todd Trophy is a trophy in rugby league, awarded to man of the match in the annual Challenge Cup Final. Introduced in 1945–46, the trophy was named in memory of Lance Todd, the New Zealand-born player and administrator, who was killed in a road accident during the Second World War. After Todd's death a fund, the Lance Todd memorial Trophy Fund, was established by Australian journalist and rugby league official Harry Sunderland. The trophy's winner is selected by the members of the Rugby League Writers' Association present at the game. Until 1957 there was no permanent trophy, instead the winner was given a cash prize with which to buy themselves a memento. The 2010 Challenge Cup (also known as the Carnegie Challenge Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 109th staging of the most competitive European rugby league tournament at club level and was open to teams from England, Wales, Scotland, France and Russia. It began its preliminary stages on 2 January 2010. Warrington Wolves successfully defended their title after beating Leeds Rhinos 30 - 6 in the final. Preliminary round The draw for the preliminary round was divided into two pools, separating amateur teams from university, police, Armed Services and regional champion teams. 2009 Challenge Cup
The 2009 Challenge Cup (also known as the Carnegie Challenge Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 108th staging of the most prestigious knock-out competition in rugby league. Teams from England, Scotland, Wales, France and Russia were included in the tournament. It began in January 2009. Teams from the Co-operative Championship received byes into round three along with four teams from France, and the winner of the Russian Championship. Teams from the Super League enter in round four. Defending champions St. Helens lost in the semi-final 14 – 24 to the Huddersfield Giants who went on to lose the final 16 – 25 to the Warrington Wolves. Super League XIII
Engage Super League XIII was the official name, due to sponsorship, for the 2008 Super League season by Engage Mutual. Twelve teams competed for the League Leader's Shield over 27 rounds (including Magic Weekend, Millennium Magic), after which the Super League play-offs#Top six, top 6 finishing teams entered the play-offs where they competed for a place in the 2008 Super League Grand Final, Grand Final and the chance to win the Super League Trophy. The Castleford Tigers took the place of the Salford Red Devils, Salford City Reds who finished last in the Super League XII, Super League in 2007 and were therefore relegated. The season kicked off on Saturday 2 February, with Leeds Rhinos playing Hull Kingston Rovers at Headingley Stadium, Headingley Carnegie. Chris Hicks (born 19 March 1977) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. He last played for the Parramatta Eels of the National Rugby League (NRL). A former New South Wales country origin representative or , he has previously played in the NRL for the Penrith Panthers and Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles as well as playing for Warrington Wolves of the Super League. Playing career Early NRL career Hicks made his NRL début for the Penrith Panthers in 1997. In six years with the Penrith club, Hicks scored just under 300 points.
