Michael Gabriel Martínez Tiburcio (born September 16, 1982) is a Dominican professional baseball utility player who is a free agent. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, and Tampa Bay Rays. In a seven-year MLB career, Martínez played every position except catcher and first baseman. Professional career Washington Nationals Martínez began in the Washington Nationals organization, commencing his professional career in 2006. That year, he played for the Vermont Lake Monsters, Savannah Sand Gnats and Potomac Nationals, hitting a combined .265 with 11 stolen bases in 82 games. Michael Christian "Mikee" Martinez (born November 4, 1996) is a Filipino Olympic figure skater. He is the 2015 Asian Figure Skating Trophy champion, a two-time Triglav Trophy champion and has won one ISU Challenger Series medal, silver at the 2014 Warsaw Cup. Martinez is the first skater from Southeast Asia and from a tropical country to qualify for the Olympics, was the only athlete to represent the Philippines at the 2014 Winter Olympics, and was one of only two to represent the Philippines at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Early life Martinez was born on November 4, 1996, in Parañaque, the youngest of three children. He began experiencing asthmatic bronchitis at two months old and was frequently in the hospital. Michael W. Martinez (August 1, 1969) is a former Austin City Council member and former mayoral candidate in Austin, Texas. He served as the Board Chair of the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority ( CapMetro), the Minority-Owned and Women-Owned Business Enterprise and Small Business Council Subcommittee. Martinez was a member of the Judicial Committee, Public Health and Human Services Subcommittee and was on the CapMetro Board of Directors. He has served on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas and worked as a diversity trainer with the National Coalition Building Institute. Martinez previously worked for the Austin Fire Department and was head of the firefighter's union.
