Michael Marron
Michael T. Marron was a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives from the 104th district. The 104th district includes parts of Champaign and Vermilion counties in east-central Illinois. Marron was sworn into office September 7, 2018 after his July 22, 2018 appointment to succeed Chad Hays. Marron, who was the Republican candidate to succeed Hays at the time of his appointment, won the 2018 general election against Democratic candidate Cynthia Cunningham. Marron's committee assignments are the Committee on Community College Access & Affordability; the Committee on the Environment; and the Committee on Insurance Subcommittee on Property & Casualty. Chad D. Hays is a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 104th district from December 2010 to September 7, 2018. William B. Black resigned from the Illinois House effective December 22, 2010. The Republican county party chairs of the district appointed Hays to succeed Black. Hays was sworn into office on December 22, 2010. WILL-FM ( 90.9 MHz) is a public, listener-supported radio station owned by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and licensed to Urbana, Illinois, United States. The State Board of Elections (SBE) is an independent agency of the U.S. state of Illinois. The SBE, as an acronym, refers both to the eight-member bipartisan board of directors and to the agency that it oversees. ''The News-Gazette'' is a daily newspaper serving eleven counties in the eastern portion of Central Illinois and specifically the Champaign–Urbana metropolitan area. Since November 2019 it is published daily Tuesday through Sunday. Based in Champaign, Illinois, the paper is owned, along with sister radio stations WDWS, WKIO and WHMS, by Community Media Group, Inc., which purchased it in November 2019 after the paper filed for bankruptcy. John Mondy Shimkus (, born February 21, 1958) is an American politician who served as a U.S. representative from 1997 to 2021, representing the 20th, 19th and 15th congressional districts of Illinois. Shimkus is a member of the Republican Party. On August 30, 2019, he announced that he would not seek re-election for his seat in 2020 and was succeeded by fellow Republican Mary Miller.
