Michael Maguire (ombudsman)
Thomas Michael Maguire is a Northern Irish public servant and former management consultant. Between July 2012 and July 2019, he served as the Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland. He was previously the Chief Inspector of Criminal Justice in Northern Ireland (2008 to 2012). Before moving into public service, he worked as a management consultant with PA Consulting Group and was a Director of Price Waterhouse. Maguire was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2019 Birthday Honours. Al Hutchinson is a former Royal Canadian Mounted Police, RCMP Assistant Commissioner, who served as the Office of the Oversight Commissioner (Northern Ireland), Police Oversight Commissioner in Northern Ireland, who in November 2007 became the second Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland. A graduate of Carleton University and Queen's University, Belfast, Hutchinson served in the Office of the Oversight Commissioner, Tom Constantine, who was charged with overseeing the Patten Commission, Patten Reforms of the Royal Ulster Constabulary, RUC, from 2001 until Constantine's retirement.
