Michael Madoya
Michael Idovolo Madoya (born 2 February 1989) is a midfielder with Kenyan Premier League side Nairobi City Stars. Career Madoya started his Kenyan Premier League journey at Kericho-based Zoo Kericho F.C., Zoo FC where he was named the league's Most Valuable Player at the end of the 2017 Kenyan Premier League season. He then moved to Tusker F.C. on a three-year deal from 2018 with whom he won the 2020-21 Kenyan Premier League, 2020-21 title in his final season. After his contract lapsed, he moved to Nairobi City Stars for the 2020-21 Kenyan Premier League season. He was handed his City Stars debut by head coach Nicholas Muyoti on 24 Oct 2021 in Thika Stadium after coming on as a second-half substitute in a matchday six tie against Bidco United. Kericho
Kericho is the largest town in Kericho County, located in the highlands west of the Kenyan Rift Valley. Positioned on the edge of the Mau Forest, Kericho benefits from a warm and temperate climate, making it good for agriculture, especially large scale tea cultivation. The town is strategically located along Kenya's western tourism circuit with access to Lake Victoria, the Maasai Mara National Reserve and Ruma National Park. Etymology The etymology of Kericho is uncertain. One theory suggests it that it was named after the region's first hospital, built by the colonial British at the start of the 20th century, referencing the Kipsigis word , for medicine. Another theory proposes the name derives from a local medicine man called Kipkerich or from a Maasai chief, Ole Kericho who was killed in the 18th century by the Abagusii. History Kericho was founded by British settlers in 1902. It hosts Africa's largest Sikh Gurudwara and the second largest Catholic cathedral in Kenya. ...
