Michael M. Wood
Michael Melville Wood (born 1947) is Chairman of Redwood Investments LLC, a Washington, D.C. investment company concentrating in media, real estate, and alternative energy. He is from Flint, Michigan. From 2006 to 2009 he was the United States Ambassador to Sweden. Early life and education Wood was born in 1947. Wood attended Phillips Academy, and received his bachelor's degree at Yale University. At Yale he was a Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity brother of George W. Bush. Career Wood is the co-founder and former CEO of Hanley Wood, LLC. He stepped down as CEO after the company was sold to J.P. Morgan Partners, however he kept a seat on the Hanley Wood board. Diplomatic relations between Sweden and the United States began with the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Commerce in 1783. Sweden received its first U.S. resident minister in 1814, but in 1818, the senior U.S. diplomat again became the chargé d'affaires. Carl XVI Gustaf Of Sweden
Carl XVI Gustaf (Carl Gustaf Folke Hubertus; born 30 April 1946) is King of Sweden. He ascended the throne on the death of his grandfather, Gustaf VI Adolf, on 15 September 1973. He is the youngest child and only son of Prince Gustaf Adolf, Duke of Västerbotten, and Princess Sibylla of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. His father died on 26 January 1947 in an airplane crash in Denmark when Carl Gustaf was nine months old. Upon his father's death, he became second in line to the throne, after his grandfather, the then Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf. Following the death of his great-grandfather, King Gustaf V, in 1950, Gustaf Adolf ascended the throne and thus Carl Gustaf became Sweden's new crown prince and heir apparent to the throne at the age of four. ESBRI - Entrepreneurship and Small Business Research Institute - is a Swedish autonomous institution which disseminates research-based knowledge on entrepreneurship, innovation and small business. Maud Elisabeth Olofsson (born ''Olsson'', 9 August 1955) is a former Swedish politician who was the leader of the Swedish Centre Party from 2001 to 2011, Minister for Enterprise and Energy from 2006 to 2011 and Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden from 2006 to 2010. The relations between Sweden and the United States reach back to the days of the American Revolutionary War. The Kingdom of Sweden was the first country not formally engaged in the conflict (although around a hundred Swedish volunteers partook on the side of the Patriots) to recognize the United States before the Treaty of Paris. The Treaty of Amity and Commerce was signed subsequently in 1783 between Benjamin Franklin and Swedish representative Gustaf Philip Creutz. In the 1800s, relations were largely cordial. House of Sweden is a building in Washington, D.C., in which is located the Embassy of Sweden and the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Iceland and the Principality of Liechtenstein to the United States.
