Michael Lee (speedway Rider)
Michael Andrew Lee (born 11 December 1958) is a British former international speedway rider who won the World Championship in 1980. He earned 72 international caps for the England national speedway team. Career Born in Cambridge, England, Lee began his professional speedway career in 1975 with Boston Barracudas (on loan from parent club King's Lynn Stars) in the second division of speedway in the United Kingdom, the National League. In his first season, he recorded an impressive average points score of 9.13, he also rode part-time for his parent club King's Lynn. In 1976, Lee moved full-time to British League team King's Lynn and finished the season with an average of 9.22, he was also the British Junior Champion that year. At the end of the 1977 season, Lee had become the top scorer in the British League with an average of 10.64. He also won the first of his two British Speedway Championship titles. Anders Michanek
Anders Michanek (born 30 May 1943) is a Swedish Speedway rider. In 1974 he won the Speedway World Championship in his Swedish homeland with a maximum score of 15 points. He earned 101 caps for the Sweden national speedway team. Career Michanek was born on 30 May 1943 in Stockholm, Sweden. He had a successful career riding in the British League. He initially signed for the Long Eaton Archers in 1967 before going on to ride for various clubs including Leicester Lions, Newcastle Diamonds, Reading Racers, Ipswich Witches and Cradley Heathens. Michaenk won the Speedway World Team Cup with Sweden in 1970. During the 1971 Swedish final, Michanek refused to pariticpate in a re-run for the title and was disqualified. Christoph Betzl (born 13 February 1949) is a German former international speedway rider. He earned 24 international caps for the West German national speedway team. Speedway career Betzl reached the final of the Speedway World Championship in the 1979 Individual Speedway World Championship representing West Germany. He has also reached the final of the Individual Speedway Long Track World Championship on eight occasions in 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1982. He won a bronze medal in the 1980 final and a silver medal in the 1981 final. Betzl was prt of the German team that competed in an eight match tour of Britain in 1975. Gornja Radgona (; , ) is a town in Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Gornja Radgona. Once it was a defensive stronghold for today's regional centre and its twin city, Bad Radkersburg, on the other side of the Mura River in Austria. The towns were split in 1919, when the state of Styria was divided between Austria and Slovenia. They afterward developed separately, and Gornja Radgona grew into a new town centre. David John Jessup (born 7 March 1953) is an English former motorcycle speedway rider. He was a world championship runner-up, world pairs champion, world cup winner and British champion. He earned 97 international caps for the England national speedway team. Career Jessup commenced his speedway career in 1969, when he rode for Eastbourne Eagles recording 6.62 average during the 1969 British League Division Two season. The following season, he won the British League Division Two Riders Championship, held at Hackney Wick Stadium on 25 September 1970. Jessup was aged just 17 at the time. He also rode for Wembley Lions in the British League. In 1972, he joined Leicester Lions and spent four years with the Midlands club. Ole Bjarne Olsen (born 16 November 1946) is a Danish former professional motorcycle speedway rider. He won the Speedway World Championship three times, in 1971, 1975, and 1978. He also won the World Long track motorcycle racing, Long Track Championship in 1973. In 1979 Olsen won Speedway World Pairs Championship with Hans Nielsen (speedway rider), Hans Nielsen.
