Michael Johnson (born May 9, 1984) is a former American football safety. He was drafted by the New York Giants in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft and has also played for the Detroit Lions. He played college football at the University of Arizona. College career Johnson played in 21 games with 14 starts at Arizona after transferring from Tyler Junior College. Was credited with 107 tackles (75 solo) and had 5 interceptions, 5.5 tackles for losses, a forced fumble and 2 fumble recoveries. In 2006, started all 10 games in which he played at strong safety, he earned All-Pac-10 2nd-team honors and finished 5th on the team with 47 tackles (35 solo), including 1 stop for a 7-yard loss. Safety (American Football Position)
Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. While American (11-player) formations generally use two safeties, Canadian (12-player) formations generally have one safety and two defensive halfbacks, a position not used in the American game. Zak DeOssie
Zackary Robert DeOssie (born May 25, 1984) is a former American football long snapper of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Brown University and was drafted by the New York Giants in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft as a linebacker. He was a twice Pro Bowl selection as a long snapper. DeOssie has earned two Super Bowl rings with the Giants in Super Bowl XLII and Super Bowl XLVI, both over his hometown New England Patriots. He is the son of former NFL linebacker Steve DeOssie; the two hold the distinction of being the only father-son duo to win Super Bowls with the same franchise. Reginald Dwayne Brown (born September 28, 1974) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted in the first round (17th overall) of the 1996 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. He played college football at Texas A&M. Brown suffered a spinal cord contusion in the final game of the 1997 season. The injury nearly left him paralyzed, and it ended his professional football career. Kenneth Phillips (born November 24, 1986) is a former American football safety. He was drafted by the New York Giants 31st overall in the 2008 NFL Draft and won Super Bowl XLVI with the team over the New England Patriots. He played college football at the University of Miami.
