Michael J. Flaherty
Michael J. Flaherty (July 7, 1862 – August 10, 1921) was an American businessman, farmer, and politician. Born in the town of Morrison, Brown County, Wisconsin, Flaherty was a farmer and livestock dealer. He was also involved with the banking, dairy, grain and paper businesses. Flaherty served as treasurer for the town of Morrison. He also served on the school board and served as the board treasurer. Morrison is a town in Brown County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 1,599 at the 2010 census. The unincorporated communities of Lark, Morrison, and Wayside are located in the town. Geography Morrison is located in southern Brown County and is bounded by Manitowoc County to the south and the east. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which is land and , or 0.37%, is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 1,651 people, 564 households, and 457 families residing in the town. The population density was 47.1 people per square mile (18.2/km2). There were 579 housing units at an average density of 16.5 per square mile (6.4/km2). Brown County is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 268,740, making it the fourth-most populous county in Wisconsin. The county seat is Green Bay, making it one of three Wisconsin counties on Lake Michigan not to have a county seat with the same name. Brown County is part of the Green Bay, WI Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Brown County is one of Wisconsin's two original counties, along with Crawford County. It originally spanned the entire eastern half of the state when formed by the Michigan Territorial legislature in 1818. The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin.
