Michael Hicks (game Designer)
Michael Hicks (born January 3, 1993) is an American video game designer, game designer, musician, programmer and writer. His most notable works include 2018's ''The Path of Motus'' and 2015's ''Pillar (video game), Pillar''. Described as a "auteur, lone auteur", Hicks is noted for his innovative game concepts. His soundtrack work has also been critically acclaimed. Early life Hicks grew up in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and attended Mt. Vernon Township High School (Illinois), Mt. Vernon Township High School. Hicks began programming games at 14 and taught himself the skills he needed by studying examples online. While attending High School he released his first published video game onto Xbox Live Indie Games at 18. After High School he moved to Winter Park, Florida to attend Full Sail University. Michael Hicks (1543–1612)
Sir Michael Hicks (21 October 1543 – 15 August 1612) was an English courtier and politician who was secretary to Lord Burghley during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. Early life Michael Hicks (or Hickes) born 21 October 1543, was the eldest son of Robert Hicks of Bristol, Gloucestershire, at one time a London merchant. His mother was Julian (or Juliana), daughter and heiress of William Arthur of Somerset. His younger brother, Baptist, was created Viscount Campden. Michael matriculated at Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1559 and was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1564. Career Joining the household of Sir William Cecil, the future Lord Burghley, he rose to become one of Burghley's two principal secretaries at the time he was the Queen's chief minister. Taking the same position with Sir Robert Cecil after Burghley's death, Hicks became an influential figure at court and appears to have been popular. Michael Hicks (British Army Officer)
Major-General William Michael Ellis Hicks (2 June 1928 – 27 December 2008) was a British Army officer. Military career Educated at Eton College and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Hicks was commissioned into the Coldstream Guards in 1948. He became commanding officer of 1st Battalion the Coldstream Guards in 1970 and was deployed to Northern Ireland during the Troubles. He went on to be commander of the 4th Guards Armoured Brigade in Münster in 1974, Brigadier on the General Staff at UK Land Forces in 1976 and General Officer Commanding North West District in 1980 before retiring in 1983. Mike Hicks (trade Unionist)
Michael Joseph Hicks (1 August 19377 September 2017) was a British politician, executive member of printers’ union SOGAT, and general secretary of the Communist Party of Britain. Career Hicks joined the Young Communist League in 1953 and later the Communist Party of Great Britain. He worked as a printer and was a member of the Society of Graphical and Allied Trades (SOGAT). A full-time branch official for the union in 1986, Hicks was arrested and convicted of actual bodily harm during the Wapping dispute. His conviction and sentencing to 12 months in prison were controversial, with the national executive committee of the Labour Party voting unanimously to call for his release. He was expelled from the CPGB in 1984 "for allowing Rule 3(d) to be applied" as the chair of the London District Congress, i.e. continuing with the congress proceedings in defiance of a demand from CPGB General Secretary Gordon McLennan to close it down. Michael Hicks (musicologist)
Michael Dustin Hicks (born 1956) is an American professor of music, poet and artist, who has studied a broad array of topics, although his work on music and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been groundbreaking in that field. Hicks was born and raised in California. Hicks has a DMA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has been on the music faculty at Brigham Young University (BYU) since 1984. Hicks has a bachelor's degree from BYU. He has been a full professor at BYU since 1996. Hicks first book was ''Mormonism and Music: A History'' (1989).
