Michael Fam
Michael Fam Yue Onn (13 January 1927 – 27 December 2014) was a former Singaporean civil engineer and businessman. He is known for leading the team to complete the North–South and East–West Mass Rapid Transit lines two years ahead of schedule and within budget. He was active in the public service and publicly-listed companies, serving as chairman of the Housing and Development Board (1975–1983), Fraser and Neave (1983–2007), the Public Transport Council (1987–1989), Cold Storage (1988), Centrepoint Properties (1990–2001), Asia Pacific Breweries (1990–2008) and Singapore Airlines (1998–2001), and founding chairman of Nanyang Technological Institute (1981–1993) and the Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (1983–1991). The Public Transport Council (PTC) is an independent regulatory statutory board under the Ministry of Transport of the Government of Singapore established on 14 August 1987 by the ''Public Transport Council Act of 1987''.
