Dobson (born September 9, 1952 in Charlotte, North Carolina) is an American author in the fields of business (particularly office politics and project management), alternate history novels (relating to World War II) and role-playing game adventures (''Dungeons & Dragons'', '' Indiana Jones'', and '' Buck Rogers XXVC''). Early life Dobson's family moved from North Carolina to Germany when he was a child; his father had spent the latter part of World War II in a POW camp and had grown adjusted to German hospitality. The Dobson family returned to the United States five years later in 1960. Dobson later lived in Decatur, Alabama, but he felt that he did not fit in well in the South. Michael William Romsey Dobson (born 13 May 1952) is a British businessman. He is the chairman and former chief executive (CEO) of Schroders plc, a British multinational asset management company. Early life He was educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge. Career Dobson has been the chairman of Schroders since April 2016. Previously, he served as chief executive of Schroders from November 2001 to April 2016. From 1973 to 2000, he worked at Morgan Grenfell and Deutsche Bank. He served as chief executive at Morgan Grenfell Group from 1989 to 1996 and member of the board of managing directors of Deutsche Bank AG from 1996 to 2000. Michael William Dobson (born 9 April 1981) is an English former professional footballer, who made over 170 appearances in the Football League for Brentford as a full back. He also played for Walsall and Reading and was nicknamed "Dobbo". Career Brentford Youth years (1990–2000) Born in Isleworth, London, Dobson began his career as a forward in the youth system at Brentford at the age of 9 and also played for Sunday club West Middlesex Colts. He signed a scholarship deal with Brentford at the end of the 1996–97 season and was named as an unused substitute on one occasion during 1998–99. Dobson signed his first professional contract at the end of the 1998–99 season, but was called onto the substitutes' bench just once during 1999–00.
