Michael Cole (17 March 1933 – 4 August 2001) was a British writer. He created a number of children's programmes from the 1970s to the 1990s, including ''Alphabet Castle'', ''Heads and Tails'' and ''Ragtime'', for which he won a Society of Film and Television Award (later known as a BAFTA) for Best Children's Programme. Together with his wife Joanne Cole, he created '' Bod'', originally published as four books in 1965 and made into a TV show in the 1970s, as well as '' Fingerbobs'' and ''Gran''. Life and work Michael Cole was born in Willesden, London on 17 March 1933. During the war he and his family were evacuated to Cheltenham where after junior school he went to Cheltenham College. He trained as an intelligence officer during national service in the army and was sent to Cambridge University to learn Russian. Michael Cole (born July 3, 1940) is an American actor. He is best known for his role as Pete Cochran on the television crime drama ''The Mod Squad'' (1968–1973). Career Cole has appeared in numerous films and TV shows, beginning in 1961 with a role in the film drama, ''Forbid Them Not.'' Other film credits include the role of Mark in the 1966 science fiction film, '' The Bubble'', later re-titled ''Fantastic Invasion of Planet Earth'', Spivey in the western '' Chuka'' (1967), Alan Miller in '' The Last Child'' (1971), which was nominated for a Golden Globe Award, and as Cliff Norris in ''Beg, Borrow or Steal'' (1973). Michael Wade Cole (born 3 September 1966) is an English former footballer who played for Ipswich Town, Port Vale, Fulham, and Chelmsford City in the 1980s and 1990s. A forward, he scored eight goals in 90 league games in a seven-year career in the Football League. Career Cole began his career at Ipswich Town, who finished 17th in the First Division in 1984–85 under Bobby Ferguson's stewardship. The "Blues" were then relegated in 1985–86, just one point behind the safety mark set by Leicester City. They reached the Second Division play-offs in 1986–87, where they were beaten by Charlton Athletic at the semi-final stage. Michael J. Cole is an American college baseball coach and former third baseman, who is the current associate head baseball coach for the Army Black Knights. Cole played college baseball at the University of Vermont from 1998 to 2001 for coach Bill Currier. He also served as the head coach of the NJIT Highlanders (2011–2012) and the Manhattan Jaspers (2018–2022) Playing career Cole attended Arlington High School in LaGrange, New York. Michael Cole (born April 13, 1938) is an American psychologist and emeritus distinguished professor at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), where he held positions in the Department of Psychology, the Department of Communication, and the Human Development Program. His research focuses on the development of a mediational theory of mind, as well as the promotion of partnerships between UCSD and the community. Career After teaching as an associate professor at the University of California for three years, Cole joined the faculty of Rockefeller University in 1969, also as an associate professor. After leaving the BBC, he worked as director of public affairs for Harrods, and thus also as a spokesman for its owner Mohamed Al Fayed. Journalism Cole began his career in newspapers, before moving to television. After a period with the local news programme for Anglia Television, he worked on the BBC's ''Look East'' from the beginning of 1969.
