Michael Coggan
Michael Coggan is an Australian news presenter who is the lead anchor for the ''ABC News'' in the Northern Territory. Coggan's career began as a broadcast journalist in Canberra. From there he began political reporting for ''ABC News'' in Darwin where he covered every Territory election. Malarndirri Barbara Anne McCarthy (born 1970) is an Indigenous Australian politician and former journalist who has been a Senator for the Northern Territory since 2016. She is the Minister for Indigenous Australians in the Albanese Government since 29 July 2024. She previously served in the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly. After working for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation as a reporter and newsreader for 16 years, in 2005, McCarthy was elected to the NT Legislative Assembly for the division of Arnhem. She was re-elected unopposed in 2008, and was subsequently appointed to the ministry by Paul Henderson. She held a number of portfolios over the following four years, but lost her seat in Labor's landslide defeat at the 2012 election. Electoral Division Of Arnhem
Arnhem is an electoral division of the Legislative Assembly in Australia's Northern Territory. It was first created in 1974, and takes its name from Arnhem Land, the region encompassing much of the northern part of the Territory. Arnhem includes the Arnhem Land towns of Barunga, Beswick, Mataranka, Jabiru and Kakadu. In the redistribution before the 2016 election, gained territory from Arafura and Stuart, while losing territory to Nhulunbuy. ''Stateline'' is a brand used by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for in-depth local and state-based news stories and interviews. Some of the stories feature on a monthly program called Stateline, which airs on the ABC News Channel and is available on ABC iview. It is hosted by James Glenday. Stateline was previously a weekly, Friday night television current affairs program. It provided analysis of state and municipal politics as well as insight into state and regional issues in a current affairs journalistic style.
