Mogo Wheelchairs is an Australian manufacturer of sporting wheelchairs established by Michael Callahan who competed in wheelchair basketball for Australia at the 1984 Summer Paralympics and 1992 Summer Paralympics. Origins Callahan wasn't able to find suitable chairs for competitive wheelchair basketball, and started building his own in the early 1980s. In 2000 Callahan reported to Sydney Morning Herald that his company was building 600 to 700 chairs a year at around AUD 2,000 per chair, and almost all of Australia's wheelchair basketball team was using his chairs. Mogo pioneered the inclusion of a fifth wheel that is now standard in wheelchair basketball. Michael Callahan (rowing)
Michael Callahan is the men's rowing head coach at the University of Washington. Early life Callahan grew up in six states, including Washington while his father was stationed at Naval Submarine Base Bangor as a U.S. Navy Submarine Captain. He won a gold medal at the 1992 World Rowing Championships in Montreal while competing in the Junior Men's Eight. College and later rowing Callahan attended the University of Washington where he earned a degree in history. While at Washington, Callahan won four Pacific-10 championships, earned the Ky-Ebright trophy in the Men's Varsity Eight three times, and was both captain and commodore of the 1996 team. In 1995 and 1996 his crews won a bronze and silver medal in the Men's Varsity Eight at IRA National Championships. In 1996, he was named Pacific-10 All-Conference. Michael Benjamin Callahan (born January 7, 1987) is an American soccer player and coach. Career Youth and amateur Callahan was born in Red Bank, New Jersey. He grew up in Cary, North Carolina and attended Green Hope High School. He played college soccer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was named to the ACC's All-Freshman Team in 2005, was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll in his freshman, sophomore and junior years, and earned All-ACC and All-American honors in 2008. During his college years Callahan also played four seasons in the USL Premier Development League with the Raleigh Elite team, which later became the Cary RailHawks U23s. Professional Callahan joined the USL First Division expansion franchise Austin Aztex in 2009. Sean Michael Callahan is a retired American professional soccer player who played professionally in the USL A-League and World Indoor Soccer League. In 1996, Callahan graduated from Jesuit High School. He attended Santa Clara University, playing on the men's soccer team from 1996 to 1999, participating in 1998 & 1999 Final Fours, reaching the National Championship vs. Indiana in 1999. He led the nation in assists his senior season. Callahan turned professional in 2000 with the Sacramento Knights of the World Indoor Soccer League. Callahan's Place is a fictional bar with strongly community-minded and empathetic clientele, part of the fictional universe of American writer Spider Robinson. It appears in the ''Callahan's Crosstime Saloon'' stories (compiled in the first novel of the same name) along with its sequels ''Time Travelers Strictly Cash'' and ''Callahan's Secret''; most of the beloved barflies appear in the further sequels ''The Callahan Touch'', ''Callahan's Legacy'', ''Callahan's Key'', and ''Callahan's Con'', and the computer game.
