Michael Thornton Burns (born December 30, 1947) is an American professor emeritus of history at Mount Holyoke College, and a published author and former television and film teen actor, most known for the television series ''Wagon Train''. Background Michael Thornton Burns was born in Mineola, New York, on Long Island, to director and producer Frank Xavier Burns (best known for the early television series, '' Martin Kane, Private Eye'') and Mary Lou DeWeese. He has an older sister, Pamela. In 1949, the family moved to Yonkers. In 1956, the family relocated to Beverly Hills, California, where he attended Beverly Hills High School. He attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia for a year before he transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles. Micky Burns
Michael Edward Burns (born 21 December 1946) is an English former professional footballer. Career A former England amateur international, Burns was signed to Blackpool from the very successful amateur side Skelmersdale United in 1969 by Les Shannon. Burns gained a teaching degree from the De La Salle College of Education at Hopwood Hall in Middleton, Greater Manchester. He was a striker with pace and could score goals. Indeed, he was the Seasiders' top scorer in three of his five seasons at Bloomfield Road. He scored on his league debut, on 9 August 1969, in a 2–1 home win over Portsmouth, and helped the Tangerines to win promotion back to Division One. On 10 June 1972, Burns scored four goals in a Blackpool's 10–0 win over Lanerossi Vicenza in the Anglo-Italian Cup, en route to an unsuccessful defence of their title in the final against Roma. Michael John Burns (born July 14, 1978) is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball for the Houston Astros, the Boston Red Sox, the Cincinnati Reds and the Milwaukee Brewers. Michael Burns (born 6 February 1969) is an English first-class list cricket umpire and former first-class cricketer who played county cricket for Warwickshire and Somerset in a first-class career which spanned from 1992 until 2005. He also played Minor Counties cricket for Cumberland and Cornwall. An adaptable cricketer, he appeared for Cumberland and Warwickshire as a wicket-keeper, but when he moved to Somerset he developed into an aggressive batsman who bowled at medium-pace when needed. Burns started his cricket career with Cumberland in 1988, but moved to Warwickshire in late 1990. He struggled to break into the first team with his new county, and spent most of his time with the club playing in the second team. Michael Edward Burns is an American assistant men's college basketball coach at Boise State. Early life and education Born in Tacoma, Washington, Burns graduated from Tyee High School in SeaTac in 1980. Burns first attended Idaho State University after high school. He later returned to the Seattle area to work as a concert promoter and worked with several grunge bands. Coaching career Burns became an assistant coach at Highline College, a junior college in Des Moines, Washington. Mick Burns (hurler)
Mick Burns (1937 – 22 February 2023) was an Irish hurler who played for his local club Nenagh Éire Óg and was a member of the Tipperary senior inter-county team in the 1950s and 1960s. Career Burns was born in Nenagh, County Tipperary. He won five All-Ireland titles and eight Munster titles with Tipperary between 1958 and 1968. He won two North Tipperary Senior Hurling Championships with Éire Óg in 1957 and as captain in 1964. Death Burns died on 22 February 2023, at the age of 85.
