Michael Breen (born 31 July 1963) is an English author, consultant and journalist covering North and South Korea. Breen writes occasional opinion columns for international and South Korean media. Since 2000, he has written a featured column for ''The Korea Times'', an English-language daily in South Korea, where he comments on South Korean society, culture, and political issues. Career Breen is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and first began living in South Korea in 1982. He was the correspondent in Korea for ''The Guardian'' and the ''Washington Times''. In 1987, he became the first non-Korean president of the Seoul Foreign Correspondents Club. In 1994, he became a management consultant specializing in North Korea, with clients such as Coca-Cola. Michael Breen (hurler)
Michael Breen (born 16 July 1994) is an Irish hurler who plays for Tipperary Senior Championship club Ballina and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. He usually lines out at midfield and can also in defence or attack. Playing career Castletroy College Breen first came to prominence as a hurler with Castletroy College in Limerick. He played in every grade of hurling before eventually joining the college's senior hurling team and lined out in several Harty Cup campaigns. University College Cork As a student at University College Cork, Breen immediately became involved in hurling as a member of the university's freshers' team. He joined the senior team in his second year and lined out in several Fitzgibbon Cup campaigns over a four-year period. Michael Breen (born May 22, 1961) is an American play-by-play sports commentator. He has been the lead announcer for National Basketball Association, NBA games on NBA on ABC, ABC and NBA on ESPN, ESPN since 2006, including the NBA Finals. He is also the lead announcer for New York Knicks games on the MSG Network. Breen previously called National Football League, NFL regular season games for both ''NFL on Fox'' and ''NFL on NBC'', as well as New York Giants preseason games. Mike Breen (born 13 June 1958) is a former English church leader, minister, and author. He has previously led missional churches in both Europe and the United States. Following a period of public controversy related to allegations of sexual misconduct, Breen is now based in West Yorkshire and is not currently engaged in active ministry. Biography Early life Breen recalls never having read a book at age 16, due to dyslexia. To enable him to partake in classroom discussions, his school teacher and returned missionary, Mrs. Dearmest, handed him a ''Living Bible'' to read. He states this is the first book he read in its entirety and credits it with changing his life.
