Michael Anderson (Building 429 Drummer)
Building 429 is an American Christian rock band from Fayetteville, North Carolina. The band's name refers to Ephesians 4:29, a Biblical passage that (in the New International Version of the Bible) reads: "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Building 429 was named the Gospel Music Association 2005 New Artist of the Year. The band is known for its hit songs "Glory Defined" (2004) and "Where I Belong" (2012). History In late 1999, bassist Scotty Beshears and guitarist/vocalist Jason Roy met in North Carolina at the final performance of Roy's band All Too Familiar. Michael DeWayne Tait (born May 18, 1966) is an American contemporary Christian music artist. Tait met Toby McKeehan in 1984 when he was in high school. Both Tait and McKeehan and Michael met Kevin Max while attending Liberty University in the late 1980s, and together they formed four-time Grammy winning band DC Talk, releasing five acclaimed studio albums. Following the group's entrance into hiatus in 2000, Tait had success in a solo career, founding a self-titled band that toured until 2007. Following his solo band's dissolution, Tait was the lead singer of Newsboys from 2009 to 2025. Aside from singing, Tait is also a self-taught guitar player. Tait has a sister, Lynda Randle, who is a Southern Gospel singer. On June 10, 2025, it was reported that Tait was alleged to have groomed and sexually assaulted several men. Tait was an American Christian rock band formed by Michael Tait, one of the members of dc Talk and the lead singer of Newsboys from 2009 to 2025. History Pre-formation of Tait (1996–1999) In 1996, dc Talk member Michael Tait met Chad Chapin and the two became close friends and began to write songs together.
