Michael Alston
Michael Alston is an Australian disabled fencer. He competed in the 1998 FESPIC Games and won a silver team medal. At the 1998 Stoke Mandeville Games, he won a gold medal in the foil event. That same year, he also competed at the DEFI Sport Event held in Canada. He won a silver medal in the épée event and a bronze medal in the sabre event. He was supported by the Blacktown City Council and was coached by Sally Kopiec. At the 2000 Summer Paralympics, 2000 Sydney Paralympics he represented Australia in the Men's Foil Individual A and Men's Sabre Individual A but did not medal. Disabled Fencing
Wheelchair fencing is a version of fencing for athletes with a disability. Wheelchair fencing is governed by the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation that is a List of international sport federations, federation of the International Paralympic Committee, and is one of the sports in the Summer Paralympic Games. The Paralympic games take place every 4 years in different countries. FESPIC Games
The FESPIC Games or the Far East and South Pacific Games for the Disabled, was a multi-sport event in Asia and the South Pacific region which is considered to be a precursor to the Asian Para Games, as two of its edition games in 1999 (7th) and 2002 (8th) were held parallel to the 1998 Asian Games and the 2002 Asian Games. The event which started in 1975 was held nine times, and last contested in December 2006 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 2000 Summer Paralympic Games or the XI Summer Paralympics were held in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, between 18 and 29 October. The Sydney Paralympics was last time that the Summer Paralympics which were organized by two different Organizing Committees.
