Indian Civil Service (British India) Officers
The Indian Civil Service (ICS), officially known as the Imperial Civil Service, was the higher civil service of the British Empire in India during British rule in the period between 1858 and 1947. Its members ruled over more than 300 million people in the Presidencies and provinces of British India and were ultimately responsible for overseeing all government activity in the 250 districts that comprised British India. Sahibzada Mohammad Khurshid ( ur, , July 1901 – after 1950) was the first Pakistani governor of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan and a former Chief Commissioner of Balochistan. Prior to the independence of Pakistan, the governor had been appointed by the government of British India (based in Calcutta and later Delhi).
