Miami Vice DVD Releases
''Miami Vice'' is an American crime drama television series created by Anthony Yerkovich and produced by Michael Mann for NBC. The series stars Don Johnson as James "Sonny" Crockett and Philip Michael Thomas as Ricardo Tubbs, Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs, two Miami-Dade Police Department, Metro-Dade Police Department detectives working undercover in Miami, Florida. The series ran for five seasons on NBC from September 16, 1984 to June 28, 1989, airing on Friday nights at the 10:00 Post Meridiam, p.m. standard time slot. Unlike traditional police procedurals, ''Miami Vice'' drew heavily upon 1980s culture, specifically noting its integration of contemporary pop and rock music, contemporary Sports car, sports cars (such as the Ferrari Testarossa and Lamborghini Countach), and stylish or stylized visuals. Action Television
The action television genre is a style of film that emerged in the 1960s. As with the action film genre, the action television is at term applied flexibly to present itself in conjunction with various tropes of multiple other genre narratives. This is showcased in early examples of the genre such as ''Starsky & Hutch'' (1975–1979) which featured regular sequences of car chases, shoot-outs, explosions, fights and scenes of urban pursuit. The style attaches itself to various other styles of film such as fantasy and horror, with ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' (1997–2003) and 21st century military themed espionage shows like ''24 (TV series), 24'' (2001–2010, 2014) and ''NCIS (TV series), NCIS''.
