Hereditary Multiple Exostoses
Hereditary multiple osteochondromas (HMO), also known as hereditary multiple exostoses, is a disorder characterized by the development of multiple benign osteocartilaginous masses (exostosis, exostoses) in relation to the ends of long bones of the lower limbs such as the femurs and tibias and of the upper limbs such as the humeri and forearm bones. They are also known as osteochondromas. Additional sites of occurrence include on flat bones such as the pelvic bone and scapula. The distribution and number of these exostoses show a wide diversity among affected individuals. Exostoses usually present during childhood. The vast majority of affected individuals become clinically manifest by the time they reach adolescence. The incidence of hereditary multiple exostoses is around 1 in 50,000 individuals. Hereditary multiple osteochondromas is the preferred term used by the World Health Organization. A small percentage of affected individuals are at risk for development of sarcomas as a ... Material-handling Equipment
Material handling equipment (MHE) is mechanical equipment used for the movement, storage, control, and protection of materials, goods and products throughout the process of manufacturing, distribution, consumption, and disposal. The different types of equipment can be classified into four major categories: transport equipment, positioning equipment, unit load formation equipment, and storage equipment. Transport equipment Transport equipment is used to move material from one location to another (e.g., between workplaces, between a loading dock and a storage area, etc.), while positioning equipment is used to manipulate material at a single location. The major subcategories of transport equipment are conveyors, cranes, and industrial trucks. Material can also be transported manually using no equipment. Conveyors conveyor system, Conveyors are used when material is to be moved frequently between specific points over a fixed path and when there is a sufficient flow volume to ju ... Moving Horizon Estimation
Moving horizon estimation (MHE) is an optimization approach that uses a series of measurements observed over time, containing noise (random variations) and other inaccuracies, and produces estimates of unknown variables or parameters. Unlike deterministic approaches, MHE requires an iterative approach that relies on linear programming or nonlinear programming solvers to find a solution. MHE reduces to the Kalman filter under certain simplifying conditions. A critical evaluation of the extended Kalman filter and the MHE found that the MHE improved performance at the cost of increased computational expense. Because of the computational expense, MHE has generally been applied to systems where there are greater computational resources and moderate to slow system dynamics. However, in the literature there are some methods to accelerate this method. Overview The application of MHE is generally to estimate measured or unmeasured states of dynamical systems. Initial conditions and paramet ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

9MOTHER9HORSE9EYES9
_9MOTHER9HORSE9EYES9, sometimes abbreviated to 9M9H9E9 or MHE (), is the screen name of an anonymous writer of creepypasta speculative fiction on Reddit. Work From 22 April to 17 July 2016, the writer posted a science fiction horror story in short installments to apparently random Reddit discussion threads. The story was posted in segments as replies to comments in the discussion threads. The story, sometimes referred to by others as the ''Interface series'', touches on such topics as "Vietnam, Elizabeth Bathory, the Treblinka concentration camp, humpback whales, the Manson Family and LSD", and particularly involves entities called "flesh interfaces". The story attracted media notice the day after its first parts were published. ''The Guardian'', reporting on the story, described it as "compelling" and "gradually more beautifully and boldly written from multiple narrative perspectives". ''Vice'' mentioned the possibility of the whole thing being part of a viral marketing campa ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
