Ivan Meštrović
Ivan Meštrović (; 15 August 1883 – 16 January 1962) was a Croatian and Yugoslav sculptor, architect, and writer. He was the most prominent modern Croatian sculptor and a leading artistic personality in contemporary Zagreb. He studied at Pavao Bilinić's Stone Workshop in Split and at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, where he was formed under the influence of the Secession. He traveled throughout Europe and studied the works of ancient and Renaissance masters, especially Michelangelo, and French sculptors Auguste Rodin, Antoine Bourdelle and Aristide Maillol. He was the initiator of the national-romantic group Medulić (he advocated the creation of art of national features inspired by the heroic folk songs). During the First World War, he lived in emigration. After the war, he returned to Croatia and began a long and fruitful period of sculpture and pedagogical work. Mate Meštrović (born 13 September 1930), also known as Matthew Mestrovic (or Matthew Meštrović), is a Croatian American journalist, lobbyist, politician and ambassador. The son of Croatian-American sculptor Ivan Meštrović, he attended grade school in Zagreb before his family moved to Italy in 1942. Ivan Meštrović (; born 21 January 1979) is a Croatian entrepreneur and sportsman who has been the co-owner of Croatian football club NK Osijek. Biography Meštrović was born in Osijek, which he left in 1997 for Zagreb. In 2008 he went to Dubai where he managed his business activities in eight central and eastern countries. Meštrović is fluent in three languages and has developed business with more continents. In 2016 he started with association football. He also was the owner of one of Italian football clubs, being become the first Croat to own the one Italian club. Meštrović is one of the famous and better Croatian entrepreneurs. Stjepan Gabriel Meštrović (born 1955) is a Croatian American sociologist. He is professor of sociology at Texas A&M University. Meštrović has served as an expert witness in war crimes trials, including at the Abu Ghraib torture and prisoner abuse case. He has written over 15 books. Meštrović was born in Croatia and moved to the United States when he was eight years old. He holds three degrees from Harvard University and a Ph.D. degree from Syracuse University. He began teaching at A&M University in 1986. His uncle is Croatian lobbyist and politician Mate Meštrović. He is a grandson of the Croatian sculptor Ivan Meštrović. Carolina Veronica Mestrovic Moroni (born July 20, 1991) is a Chilean singer, actress and TV host known for her role in TVN's '' Rojo fame contrafama'', where she won the "singers category" in 2008. Career Mestrovic first appeared on television in 2008 in the Chilean program '' Rojo fama contrafama'' (''Red, the Value of Talent''), where she won in the Singers category and received a car as her reward. She subsequently joined Chilevisión's youth program ''Yingo'', which also showcased her singing talent. In 2010 she competed on ''Yingo'' and won second place, collecting a prize.
