Chingon (band)
Chingon is a band from Austin, Texas. Their sound is heavily influenced by Mexican rock, mariachi, ranchera, and Texan rock 'n roll music. History Chingon was formed by film director Robert Rodriguez to record songs for his 2003 film ''Once Upon a Time in Mexico''. They contributed to ''Mexico and Mariachis'', a compilation album from Rodriguez' '' Mariachi Trilogy'', and released their debut album, '' Mexican Spaghetti Western'', in 2007. The band's name comes from a Mexican slang term, '' chingón'', loosely but closely enough meaning "badass" and/or "the shit". Chingon also contributed the song "Malagueña Salerosa" to Quentin Tarantino's '' Kill Bill: Volume 2'' — which Rodriguez scored — and a live performance by the band was included on the film's DVD release. They also contributed to the soundtrack for his next film, a collaboration with Tarantino, ''Grindhouse'', doing a cover of the film's opening theme, re-titling it "Cherry's Dance of Death". Rodríguez plays gui ...

Once Upon A Time In Mexico
''Once Upon a Time in Mexico'' is a 2003 American neo-Western action film written, directed, produced, photographed, scored, and edited by Robert Rodriguez. It is the sequel to '' Desperado'' (1995) and the third and final installment in the '' Mexico Trilogy''. The film features Antonio Banderas in his second and final performance as El Mariachi. In the film, El Mariachi is recruited by CIA agent Sheldon Sands (Johnny Depp) to kill a corrupt general responsible for the death of his wife, Carolina (Salma Hayek). ''Once Upon a Time in Mexico'' was released in the United States on September 12, 2003, by Sony Pictures Releasing. The film received mixed reviews from critics, with praise for Depp's performance, but criticism for reducing its protagonist to an almost secondary character in his own trilogy and a convoluted plot. In the special features of the film's DVD, Rodriguez explained this was intentional, as he wanted this to be his ''The Good, the Bad and the Ugly'' of the t ...

Del Castillo (band)
Del Castillo is a Latin rock band, based in Austin, Texas. History Del Castillo began as a Latin music style project between two brothers, Rick and Mark del Castillo in the fall of 2000. The brothers, who had always played electric guitar in many different rock bands, had never played together and for the first time ever they began collaborating on songs on nylon string, acoustic guitars. So Rick and Mark decided to record some music together that their family could enjoy and culturally relate to. Their musical friend, Alex Ruiz, began adding lyrics to the brothers' instrumentals, and soon after, the other band members joined them. Rick recruited his friend Albert Besteiro, Jr., on bass and friend Cecilio Ruiz III on percussion and vocals, and Mark invited drummer Mike Zeoli, from their other joint project, Milhouse. After receiving very positive and most encouraging responses from everyone who heard the music they created, the project naturally began to evolve into a real band ...
