Federal Highway 2D (, Fed. 2D) is a part of the federal highways corridors (), and is the designation for toll highways paralleling Mexican Federal Highway 2. Seven road segments are designated Highway 2D, all but one in the state of Baja California, providing a toll highway stretching from Tijuana in the west to around Mexicali in the east; one in Sonora, between Santa Ana and Altar; and another between the cities of Matamoros and Reynosa in Tamaulipas. Tijuana–Tecate and Libramiento de Tecate Operated by IDEAL, the Autopista Tijuana-Tecate and Libramiento de Tecate run and ,Datos Viales - Baja California SCT, 2017 respectively, with a combined toll of 111 pesos. Federal Highway 5 (, Fed. 5) is a toll-free part of the federal highways corridors (), and follows the northeast length of the state of Baja California from the US-Mexico border in Mexicali to the junction with Fed. 1. The highway is inside the Mexicali Municipality and the San Felipe Municipality. From San Felipe to the south, the road follows the seacoast of the Gulf of California until Chapala and the Jct. with Fed. 1 Route description The road begins in the border city of Mexicali near the western border crossing. It has four lanes from there for about km 80. At this point it becomes a two-lane highway (with little or no shoulder in most areas) until km 160, about 18 km (11 mi) south of the junction with Fed. 3, and about 40 km (24 mi) north of San Felipe. Calexico West Port Of Entry
The Calexico West Port of Entry (formerly known simply as the Calexico Port of Entry, and sometimes called the "Downtown" port of entry) is one of two ports of entry in the Imperial Valley area of California. It is located in the business center of the Calexico-Mexicali metropolitan area that is divided by an international boundary. This crossing has easy access north to Interstate 8 via California State Route 111. Mexican Federal Highway 5 then begins its journey to the south. __NOTOC__ The San Ysidro Port of Entry (aka the San Ysidro Land Port of Entry or the San Ysidro LPOE) is the largest land border crossing between San Diego and Tijuana, and the fourth- busiest land border crossing in the world (second-busiest excluding the crossings between mainland China and its two special administrative regions) with 70,000 northbound vehicles and 20,000 northbound pedestrians crossing each day, in addition to southbound traffic. It connects Mexican Federal Highway 1 on the Mexican side with Interstate 5 on the American side. The Kumeyaay, also known as 'Iipai-Tiipai or by the historical Spanish name Diegueño, is a tribe of Indigenous peoples of the Americas who live at the northern border of Baja California in Mexico and the southern border of California in the United States. They are an Indigenous peoples of California, Indigenous people of California. The Kumeyaay language belongs to the Yuman–Cochimí language family. The Kumeyaay consist of three related groups, the Ipai language, 'Iipai, Tiipai language, Tiipai, and Kamia. Interstate 8
Interstate 8 (I-8) is an Interstate Highway in the southwestern United States. It runs from the southern edge of Mission Bay at Sunset Cliffs Boulevard in San Diego, California, almost at the Pacific Ocean, to the junction with I-10, just southeast of Casa Grande, Arizona. In California, the freeway travels through the San Diego metropolitan area as the Ocean Beach Freeway and the Mission Valley Freeway before traversing the Cuyamaca Mountains and providing access through the Imperial Valley, including the city of El Centro. The Sierra de Juárez, also known as the Sierra Juarez, is a mountain range located in Tecate Municipality and northern Ensenada Municipality, within the northern Baja California state of northwestern Mexico. La Rumorosa is a town in the municipality of Tecate, Baja California, Mexico. It has a population of 1,836 inhabitants. It lies on the road between Mexicali and Tecate, and it is directly across the international border from Jacumba Hot Springs, California. However, no official border crossing exists; the nearest official crossing is in Tecate. The La Rumorosa area contains Native American cave paintings, which are the primary tourist draw.
