Summer 08
''Summer 08'' is the fifth studio album by English electronic music band Metronomy, released on 1 July 2016 by Because Music. Recording and release ''Summer 08'' is Metronomy's first album recorded solely by member Joseph Mount since their debut effort, ''Pip Paine (Pay the £5000 You Owe)''. Its title and release date was announced on BBC Radio 1 in an interview with Annie Mac on 11 May 2016, simultaneously with a release of the album's first single, "Old Skool". Collin Robinson of ''Stereogum'' called the song a "disco-leaning, 808-heavy, DJ-scratching throwback of a jam." The track "Mick Slow" samples most of the track "Weather the Windmill" from Mick Karn's first solo album, ''Titles''. Metronomy included Karn's track in their edition of the ''Late Night Tales'' series in 2012. Critical reception ''Summer 08'' received mostly positive reviews from music critics. Love Letters (Metronomy Album)

According to critic review aggregator Metacritic, the album has received a score of 73 out of 100, based on 26 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews". Heather Phares of AllMusic writes that "Musically and emotionally, ''Love Letters'' is rawer than what came before it, trading breezy synth pop for insistent psych-rock and soul influences. Confessional and insular, ''Love Letters'' is the work of a band willing to take pop success on their own terms and reveal a different – but just as appealing – side of their artistry in the process". Track listing Personnel Credits adapted from the liner notes of ''Love Letters''. Metronomy * Joseph Mount – vocal ...

Nights Out
''Nights Out'' is the second studio album by English electronic music band Metronomy, released on 8 September 2008 by Because Music. Background The starting point for the album was, according to lead singer Joseph Mount, "a half-arsed concept album about going out and having a crap time." Mount wrote and recorded most of the album by himself, but instrumentalists Gabriel Stebbing and Oscar Cash "play bits on a couple of tracks on the album and it's kind of become... Metronomy used to be a him and now it's definitely a they – which takes the heat off me a bit as well". Artwork The artwork for the album was created by airbrush artist Philip Castle. Release The commercial pressing of the album has a printing error on the cover; instead of reading ''Nights Out'', it merely says ''Nights''. The promotional version is unaffected. It is unknown whether this will be rectified in the next pressing of the album. In 2012, the album was awarded a double silver certification from the I ...

Ninja Tune
Ninja Tune is an independent record label based in London, with a satellite office in Los Angeles. It was founded in 1990 by musicians Matt Black and Jonathan More, known collectively as Coldcut. The label was established as an outlet for Coldcut to explore a style distinct from that of the mainstream music industry. History 1990–1999 Following a Coldcut tour in Japan with Norman Cook (a.k.a. Fatboy Slim, then of Beats International) the label lifted its moniker and aesthetic from the Japanese TV shows of the 1950s and 1960s based on the Ninja. With their first releases in the early 1990s, Ninja Tune went on to "usher in trip-hop/instrumental hip hop." according to Pitchfork. After Coldcut's success with their first label, ''Ahead of Our Time'', contractual issues prevented them from releasing anything under their name.
